Getting my Magnus converted to LTF (fingers crossed)!

@kej Congrats on following up and letting us know about all this...

But I am thinking this situation in another way..

my suggestion would be to take this up with BM and request him to check with their Product team and/or Regional Manager to get the card as LTF

Its good that they are providing you fee reversal each year (as they have some money at disposal)

BUT BUT BUT

this way, they may ask you lock your NRV with Axis (which I dont think is healthy)

If you wish to transfer amount to other bank, or do not wish to invest as per their expectations..
They would always have the option to say "no" to fee reversal for that year..

I can already hear them saying "Sorry sir, abki baar vo extra amount khatam ho gai issliye aapko reversal nahi de paayenge... agar aap kuch investments/bonds/FD karwa le 10L tak ki.. toh usse hume jo commision milega usse hum apka ye saal ka free karwa denge... agle saal aisa nahi hoga... bas issi saal thode funds kam pad gaye"

better to be safe than sorry down the line as RMs do change after some point and the new one might not be as good as your current one...

P.S: this is my take on the situation, if your RM is trustworthy.. then you should definitely go ahead..

@kej - Wow. This is amazing. I also hold a paid version of Magnus, which I had sourced a few weeks before the LTF offer was rolled out. I caused a stink, but ultimately nothing came of it. My BM was very apologetic but couldn't move the needle. NRV is decent. I had even threatened to move it out. Any tips to get this done?

Ask your BM for another Magnus LTF under your family name.

Well, the issue is that they are not able to get LTF approval from the Product Team, but to retain me as a client they are willing to pay for the fee from the branch's budget. So getting Magnus LTF for family is also not really a viable option as per them.

I agree with @NOOBY but I don't think there's more room for negotiation, so for now, I'm just waiting for written communication for this from the Branch Manager...

Yup. That was the issue at my end also. He kept trying with the product team who refused. My branch is located in a fairly upmarket area. Maybe that's why they don't care too much about me to pay it from their own budget 🙂

All the best then

There are 2-3 cases on this forum where they were able to convert Magnus as LTF

you may talk with them if you wish

Hey Guys,

Although I'm yet to get this in writing, there's an interesting way of getting your card converted to LTF which I wanted to share with this group.

When I heard about the current offer of getting Axis Magnus LTF with Burgundy Salary accounts I got super pissed and got in touch with my RM. He wasn't aware of it and said he'll get back to me in some time. He acknowledged the offer but said that it was only for the new customers. After some back and forth and negotiations, he said he'll figure out a way.

He called me the next day stating that he'll be able to get my Axis Magnus fee waived every year because of my good relations with the branch. He explained that the card would actually still remain a paid variant but the annual fee each year would be paid by the branch and not me. Interestingly, each branch has some budget at its disposal which it can use to grant services to its clients.

Initially, he asked to get an Axis Reserve card to get this offer because I had shown him an interest in Reserve. But pushed him further because I have a salary account with them and he agreed to give the offer even without signing up for Axis Reserve.

I met him in person today and he confirmed this proposal but I have asked him to give this to me in writing keeping the branch manager in CC. Do let me know if you guys think there's something else I should do to ensure Axis delivers this promise even if the RM or BM changes after a year.

P.S.: I end up spending >15 L on Magnus so I do get the fee reversed anyway, so tomorrow I'm planning to push him to include my Vistara Infinite in this. So basically my ask is going to be for them to pay for either of the card's fees because for the branch it's the same amount 10K.
In my case also, have mailed to pno they said just no that they cant convert it as ltf even inspite of having higher trv with axis like my cc accounts, current account all is with acis still they said no,now thinking to talk with rm what are your opinion on this!!?
