Update:
The APEPDCL App now allows you to pay electricity bills via BillDesk(Payment Gateway)
BillDesk includes credit cards and wallets(incl AmazonPay)
1. Buy Apay gift cards with cc that give u a good return
2. Add that Apay gift card to ur Apay balance
3. Complete the payment using the Apay wallet option from BillDesk - Charges: 1.18%

today I Personally tried using SBI Cashback cc, Net Return: 3.82% U may get even more using any other cards like AMEX cards

Just to clarify, I specifically mentioned the "APEPDCL App", not the website. DISCOMS like APEPDCL stopped accepting payments from any other apps except their own since July 2024, which is just 6 months ago. Before that, everyone was free to pay their electricity bills however they wished. So, I genuinely have no idea how you've been paying bills "like this" for the past year when the issue you're claiming to have experienced only started recently.

And for your kind information: the APEPDCL App already had SBI, PAYTM, BOB, and Federal Bank as its payment gateways. However, this month, I noticed they added the BillDesk payment gateway—and that’s exactly why I shared the update.
This may not be new to you, but it could be new to others!

APSPDCL accepted billdesk amazon pay with charge of 1%plus gst from long ago
I guess south discom is better than east discom and central discom is much better as it accepted BBPS

This is working since long time ago. Paying via Billdesk using Apay balance since many months now for APEPDCL. Nothing new.

perhaps you are not aware of how billing systems work. the list of PGs will be the same irrespective of the device the user is using to pay (laptop, mobile etc). and for your kind information billdesk was the older PG on their website.

for those who are not proficient in math, this year is 2025. so last year is 2024. yes, i've been paying through Billdesk (1.18% charges) since the bbps support has been dropped. i have screenshots of 4 bills i pay every month. anyone can come in DM & review them.

maybe others dont know this method. but portraying this as a new change is incorrect information.

you are using app just to pay electricity bill once a month? Website has Billdesk option since long ago.
