DCB HDFC Addon number different from Primary

Hi everyone,

I received my HDFC DCB Metal Addon today. To my surprise, it has different card no. compared to my primary.

1. I can see the addon card while setting up card controls or changing pin in mycards app. When I changed card limit or set pin, I got a mail saying addon card no. XXXX changed. But they mention primary card no. over there in place of XXXX.
2. I don't see addon on Netbanking, when i click on addon controls. I can add addon card separately on Netbanking tho.
3. I also checked the OTP. The OTP came on the addon mobile number!

@Ankit Goyal also received a different card number for his addon.

1. Does anyone know about this change from HDFC? This is a big change in their card policy.
2. Since my Primary Card is FYF, would the addon too remain FYF?
3. Since card nos. are different, would the spending milestones of addon be counted on Primary?

I have mailed HDFC about this. Meanwhile would be helpful if forum experts can share any info on this.

Effective 1st Feb, addon policy for HDFC has changed, now it is new addons and OTPs will be sent to addon mobile number. Finally hdfc has changed its policy.

Got infinia recently and the addon has same number as primary. I don't think this has come into effect yet

This is in effect. I talked to a bank official and he too confirmed that they are giving different card numbers for addon now.

How to get new number for existing addon? Any idea?

Weird. My Infinia came after 5th Feb but still Add on is same number as Primary. How to get that changed? If I replace, will I be able to get it at nearest branch rather than permanent address ?

If it really is, that means we will be able to use Visa infinite offer (for V infinia) for each addon we have?

Believe so. Different card no. will be recognised separately. Can be confirmed only when someone tries it.

Someone blocked and got the same numbers on the addon. Better to talk to your RM.

I applied for a Regalia Gold add-on 2 days back. Will confirm whether getting different number once receiving the card.

you must be lucky that you got add-on having separate number. Milestone benefit should be calculated at account level and so, you should be fine with that.
Also, you will get double benefit from Smartbuy i.e. you can buy double the AZ/FK vouchers via 2 accounts by using separate cards (accelerated reward capping would remain the same)

Thanks! Seems like who already have add-ons with same number, cannot get with different number. Some have freshly applied for add-ons and I am waiting for their replies.
Either it is being done only for new Diners, or everyone taking addons for first time.

I got my Infinia plus addon cards on 20th Feb. All of them have the same card number unfortunately.

I had 2 Addon cards on my DCP. I got upgraded to DCB, and got the 2 Addon DCB cards along with my primary card today. Unfortunately, all same card number.

Are you sure about this? Does that mean I can order two 20k amazon pay vouchers instead of the usual 20k and still get accelerated points on 40k?

The points rewarded are done based on merchant name I think, so you should get it. But yes, the reward points for smartbuy will be done on account basis so primary + add on will cumulatively be capped to 15k points a month.

There is no charge for addon card as it was secondary card

Correct. I have received new infinia metal on 16.02.24. primary and add on card and priority pass no. Same for both.
