HDFC Bank Not Refunding Money Rs.53147

Hi,
I did a transaction of Rs.53147 on Flipkart on 30th September 2024 From my HDFC bank rupay credit card where due to some technical error or something payment got debited but order not completed after that I saw on order history in Flipkart where order is in pending state or a message display that " If any amount debit then contact to your bank".
And then after that I contacted HDFC bank and raised this issue and same time I contacted Flipkart Customer care where Flipkart told me we don't receive any payment because the order was not completed.
After that I contacted HDFC bank too many times via call and mail and their dispute team but nothing happened after more than 3 months passed no refund provided still.
They told me to provide proof where transactions are not received to merchant
Flipkart every time told me there are no details available for this transaction
If anybody knows how to handle this case or got my refund back

Try asking for a chargeback? I hope you've paid the bill or else it'll be a nightmare for you due to CIBIL reporting....
 
Ask hdfc about the transaction ID. Then get the confirmation from fk that the transaction was incomplete for this transaction ID.

In mean time you escalate it directly to pno. If they don't respond within few days you can complain to rbi bo.

You can follow this thread.

 
Ask hdfc about the transaction ID. Then get the confirmation from fk that the transaction was incomplete for this transaction ID.

In mean time you escalate it directly to pno. If they don't respond within few days you can complain to rbi bo.
There is a thread here on TE about INR 100 per day compensation for failed TAT.

You need to provide hdfc money debited statement proof to Flipkart, then Flipkart will either provide you Refund refrence number (if money was received by Flipkart but order creation failed) or they will deny it. If no money claimed by Flipkart then your money must be with the payment gateway.
Whatever response you get from Flipkart forward that to hdfc and don't forget to file RBI complaint for solid compensation against delay of Refund not credited for failed transaction.
 
@OP just went through your screenshots and I might seem paranoid and cynical but the order failed screenshot is not from Flipkart app but web browser, now are you 100% sure you completed the transaction on the legit Flipkart site??

Was this UPI RuPay Txn or direct CC txn? what's the merchant name in statement?

Again just making sure the basics are in place.

@OP just went through your screenshots and I might seem paranoid and cynical but the order failed screenshot is not from Flipkart app but web browser, now are you 100% sure you completed the transaction on the legit Flipkart site??

Was this UPI RuPay Txn or direct CC txn? what's the merchant name in statement?

Again just making sure the basics are in place.

Best way forward is... First ask HDFC Bank to provide your all transaction details also ask them reconcile whether there is any missing credit transaction due to reversal of the same transaction amount and/or number. Also chech ur own bank statement carefully. Sometime debit transactions are not marked when credit happens before settlement. (I have experienced this once in some transaction at flipkart, reconciliation helped me another time to find out the culprit).

Then follow up with Flipkart. Same process. Ask them for reconciliation with your proof.
You should have done all this after 15 days (ideally after 10 working days).

Edit: based on your latest reply received from HDFC I think merchant may have settled the transaction. Ask merchant (Flipkart) to communicate with Bank based on the given details and transaction and settlement date, time and amount.

Yes there are different compensation rate for different failures.

Thing is information share among merchant and issuer isn't customers duty. The bank and merchant should handle it among themselves.
Customer should apply for chargeback right away.

yeah looks like everything is in place. Basically Flipkart or Gateway has your money and RBI wont help cuz it's not entirely HDFC's fault Flipkart is not returning it.

I was kindda hoping for HDFC to be at fault here cuz you can fight with a bank for legit issues.

Flipkart has zero/negative customer support in my experience. They have no escalation matrix. Let's see if someone has navigated through Flipkart on such issues.

Note: Call Customer Care and see if you can still dispute the transaction, because that will set all the proof sharing in motion which you are trying to achieve right now.

when did you receive this email from hdfc?
 
Once In 2018, I had a similar issue.I ordered a redmi mobile of 9999rs with cash on delivery, but later paid that amount from flipkart app order section with sbi debit card.Money was debited but transaction showed as failure.I raised multiple complaints with flipkart, but they said money didn't reach their end.Sbi customer care confirmed me that the amount was credited to the merchant.
THEN I RAISED complaint on national consumer helpline against Flipkart and next day flipkart asked bank account details, and then in 1 or 2 days they refunded the money to my bank account via NEFT.
1)Forward this mail to flipkart and ask for the refund.
2)raise chargeback dispute for the transaction on HDFC complaint portal.
3)If above two don't give you the refund then raise Complaint on RBI BO.

Since, Hdfc confirmed that the amount is credited to flipkart, I would suggest you to raise chargeback for the transaction with HDFC giving the reason that you didn't receive the product and merchant aslo not helping.
ASLO, lodge a complaint againt mother fu*ker flipkart on consumer helpline and other central grievance portal as well.
