DCB HDFC Diners Club Black Metal Credit Card

Spend 1.5L more and get upgraded to Infinia (if one meets the other criteria) or are they going to jack up the Infinia spend criteria as well?
Yes
But Infinia has a higher CL criteria plus a higher waiver criteria plus higher fees and plus no quarterly milestone of 10k

I feel this one hits the sweet spot for 2 quarterly spend of 4 lakhs each

20k bonus RP + swiggy one membership + waiver + Diners domestic lounge network

Interesting, only advantage Infinia has is better redemption options, higher monthly accelerated limit, better multiplier in Smartbuy, and universal acceptability. Did I miss anything?
It would be interesting to crunch the numbers based on my spends between the two, something to do over the long weekend 🤓

Redemption is still same if you are not redeeming against Tanishq vouchers
Smartbuy 10x has been introduced for DCB metal too .
Acceptance is still debatable but with the expansion of Rupay , Diners acceptability has increased over times.
Monthly cap of 15k in Infinia over 10k in DCB is almost compensated with the milestone of 10k RP over 4 lakhs quarterly spends

Same fee, and the same eligibility. So they will issue future DCBs in the metal variant just like with Infinia. Added a milestone benefit(2.5% for 4L spend/quarter). They've increased spend waiver to 8L(for a card with a crappy acceptance). Lol!
if I have plastic DCB now, will I get option to continue with plastic upon renewal? asking because mine is ltf and would like to continue with this fee structure.

As it’s recently launched and many things needed to be discussed and sorted. Let’s just wait for some more time for more details. How much time you’ve for renewal??

Of course. Many people are still happily enjoying their LTF Plastic Infinia. Ideally, as a gesture of goodwill, you should be offered an LTF upgrade to metal if they choose to stop issuing PVC cards.

And with Regalia and Regalia gold both are active hope the same. But let’s see what’s HDFC have on their thoughts.

Apple as well in addition to Tanishq

I was referring to the 5x vs 3x for regular vouchers.

Yep, agreed

Need to crunch numbers on this.

If one spends 4L in one quarter, they are already in Infinia spend territory, they might as well upgrade to that 🤔
If they have a CL of 10L and they're hitting that milestone for 2 consecutive quarters, then yes. Even after that, HDFC can act a bit cocky and not give them the card, so there's that.
DCB Metal card seems nice, but I wonder if RBI's preferred card network rule applies to this card also. Would make me change my mind about getting this card 🤣

If RBI rule will apply to this what will the name be?? 🤣 Card name itself is on network only.

RBI’s preferred network rule applies to only the card which are issued with multiple card networks. Won’t be applicable here 😅

The whole idea of this card is to upgrade LTF DCB guys to paid DCB metal so that banks revenue goes up.. for that they have increased monthly smartbuy limit and given that qtrly spend milestone.. like infinia plastic guys need to pay for infinia metal same way dcb metal also won’t be LTF.. both metal cards they give FYF when u upgrade.. this is my view..
Yeah...makes sense to me! The way HDFC was throwing away all the cards as LTF in the past years, and then has moved to very selective cards as LTF....could be a reason behing this PVC to Metal shift

Just had a call with the person who processed my Alumni DCB and it seems that the alum offer is being discontinued effectively today. So no more LTF plastic DCB.

Also I enquired, no LTF metal under alum offer and in case they re-issue new card after expiry and it is metal it'll continue to be LTF...only if a metal one is issued automatically, if you request for it it'll be chargeable.
