Issuance Fee Waiver Offer
There is another offer running on the issuance of an HDFC ForexPlus card where the joining fees get waived if you load a minimum of 1,000 USD or equivalent value of another currency. Check this out.

My Experience

Since I have an international trip planned next month to Japan I tried to apply HDFC ForexPlus Card (multicurrency card) and load some 2,00,000 Yen to the card to compare the actual reward rate. While Google is showing the exchange rate of 2L Yen equal to 112150 INR, HDFC is charging me some 1,16,695 INR including loading charges of around 195. It equates to a direct loss of approximately 4.01% since HDFC has higher Forex rates. But with a 16.66% (5X) reward rate on my Diners Club Black credit card, this deal is too good since it would leave me a net reward rate of 12.65% which handsomely beats even the reward rates of Axis Olympus and Axis Reserve. This is a good offer especially if you hold Diners Black or above credit cards.

Loading in USD is proving to be much cheaper since only approximately 2% charge is being applied so if you want to get a card then go for Regalia Plus Forex card since although it can be loaded only in USD but can be used to pay in any currency worldwide since it has zero cross currency markup charges.

Okay so my Infinia statement got generated today. The base reward points table shoes 0 for the forex transaction. However, within the accelerated reward points area there is an entry of forex rewards (1X for now). Which means the rewards are been provided as part of the offer and is also separate from the smartbuy limit of 15k.

Is it 15k per month statement.. I mean 15k for feb and march respectively..

2 questions:
1. Can I buy the card in my wife's name (existing hdfc customer with valid ITR etc) and pay by my Infinia card?
or
2. Can I pay with Infinia add-on card in my wife's name and get 5X?

It is possible, go to cards section in INB and search for that button for apply for forex card.
There is an option to apply for forex card through request apply...but it selects the multicurrency forex card by default...at least I couldn't find an option to change that in NB...were you able to do this?

1. You can buy & but you can't reload with your card.
2. You can pay but 15K limit is for primary + add on card basis

Hi Guys!! I have a question!
So I have Diners Black and Infinia both for me and brother.
I ordered one regalia plus forex on my name, and loaded 1300$ on that card using my diners. That should give me 15000 points.

Now my question is that will I get the 5x rewards points if load the card again with my brother’s Infinia card or should I actually get a new forex regalia card on his name and load from his infinia. (I also have Infinia add on my name)

Go ahead if you have infinia. I did the same. Will get total 18,750 points. 1x this month, 4x next month.
Then repeat the same next month if you need more forex.
I plan to use it to take out cash when I travel abroad.

HDFC Brochure is saying we can only have 2000 USD unspent in the card.

I only took the card for the reward points and not travelling anywhere. Is this a problem?

Having a slightly peculiar problem. Ordered my Regalia forex card online and collected it at the branch the following day. However, on trying to activate it, I got a text saying the activation was on hold and I needed to visit the branch to sort it out. Of course, the people at the branch were clueless, but I managed to get through to phone banking while there and they said that the problem was because my old Regalia forex card, which expired last year, needed to be cancelled in the system before the new one could be activated (even though the old one expired months ago; don't ask me why). They submitted a request for that and that's been done and my new Regalia card is active.

But I cannot log in on the prepaid cards site because the IPIN mailer that came with the card was made in hell and the two sheets of paper that are supposed to come apart and reveal the IPIN were firmly stuck together, and trying to separate them only resulted in them tearing without revealing the IPIN.

When you click forgot password on he prepaid cards site, it asks you to enter your user ID (for which new users are supposed to enter their card number), card number, DOB, CVV, card expiry, and a captcha. I've tried everything - entering my card number, my previous Regalia login user ID, my HDFC customer ID, in the user ID field and it says it's wrong every time.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem and got around it? I don't want to call HDFC if I can avoid it.
