HDFC just want us to swipe the card instead of the PP. How can this be a devaluation? I’m sure you carry the card with you. Just present it instead of the PP. In fact carrying the physical PP is a hastle.

Which premium lounge in your consideration accepts PP but does not accept Infinia card?

Travel Club Premium Lounge in Kolkata. They straight away send Non-DCB/PP people to other basic lounge, irrespective of the card you have. There is 080 Lounge in BLR T1 where I have seen them rejecting Visa/MC CCs, not sure of Infinia[It does show in Dreamfolks for Infinia tho]. Also many lounges of small regional airports do not accept most of Visa/MC CCs. HDFC should come up with a proper announcement with an updated Infinia Lounge List. Current Infinia Visa/Mc Lounge list has very few lounges. Ppl have accessed some additional lounges apart from the list, but its hit and trial. Infinia is their top card, We shouldn't be doing hit and trial with it.

Ideally, if you have a topmost super-premium card of a bank, you shouldn't even think whether it will work in a lounge or not.

The problem is they have aligned the lounge list as per Regalia Gold, based on RG fee the lists looks reasonable. However, they need to update lounge list for Infinia at par with Diners.

This is how the Lounges make money out of you.
They receive 100% payment for the guest charge, whereas for the Priority pass slash, they get a much smaller amount (as part of their agreement)

No bank except HDFC allowed PP usage in India without additional charges. To be specific, PP access to any lounge in India is charged at 27USD and hence it's quite expensive when same lounges allow entry at less than 2k.

I have never encountered HDFC infinia being refused at any lounge. All lounges which accept PP accept cards. In fact there are some lounges which accept only cards and don't accept PP.

Unless the number of lounges is reduced this is not a devaluation. Ppl these days seriously seem to make mountain of a molehill unnecessarily.

In nagpur infinia doesn't work only pp and other cards.

I don't think we should call it devaluation.
Infinia holders along with add-ons are still able to access domestic and international lounges and that too unlimited.

It's just you cannot use PP for domestic.

Infinia PP was free to use for lounge access in domestic lounges( I use regularly). Now it will ONLY be for overseas lounges, per the links above. But smartbuy still says free within India. 🙄

It would be better to separate the threads as they are not related. Mine is a Policy Devaluation Post, this thread of OP is a mistake made by Lounge Associate way back in Nov 2024, for which he got charged now after 3 months. Devaluation posts should be separate as per me, so that everyone has clear visibility while using or getting such CCs. For example, due to this policy, many might not even upgrade to Infinia now. I'll leave it upto you.

I had swipped 3 priority passes in chennai in November 2024. Just received the charges on my current statement, i thought infinia priority pass was free of charges on usage within india also, please confirm if anyone knows.

I have been using Infinia PP for domestic lounge access without charges for about 6 months now.
