1. How much time does it take to open an account online vs offline?

Online- 1 day
Offline- Depends on branch

2. If I’m opening online how will the home branch be decided? Asking because I understand that only home branch can issue this card.

Only branches in your city as mentioned in aadhar will be given choice

I’m going out of town in a day or two so wanted to see if everything can be done in a day so by the time I return (in about a week) I have card issued to be able to avail complementary car drop service back home.

Yes, Rupay Select is main variant. They have tied up with National Common Mobility Card to offer their services. When i applied there was plain Rupay Select DC.

After several attempts , none of my local BOB branch could source neither the world sapphire DC nor the Rupay Select
Finally filed a Ombudsman complain against BOB .
Dekhte hai what the branch guys has to say now.

I applied for my mom on 30th September - didn't received PIN for her.

Seems only 29th September application received.
