HSBC Live plus card for already hsbc card holder

Sobirvs

This is for a friend. He is a hsbc credit card only customer from 5 yrs now. He got the card when he used to do a job in 2019. Now from 3-4 yrs he is self employed. I don't think HSBC is aware of his self employed status.

He has a visa platinum LTF hsbc card.

He wants live+ card. What is the best way for him to get live+ card?? 1st, can he even get a new card coz he is self employed? will talking to customer care help?? does hsbc give pre-approved cards?? currently it shows 999 joining fee + 999 annual, can hsbc waive off these fee for already card holders and make it ltf? if yes how? if no, then can they reduce the fee or waive off atleast joining fee?

Also he saw 250 amazon voucher free, can he get that too?

Fresh application for Live+ got rejected for me as well since i was already holding Visa platinum card.
Then I managed to flip the card from Visa platinum to Live+ but at the expense of 999 joining fees + GST. we won't be eligible for 1000 INR gift voucher either if we flip the card since its only applicable for NTB customers
For how many months are you holding LIVE+?
Are you getting 10% on groceries?

For example, Axis charged me the Annual Fee for Ace card - which has a 2L milestone to get a waiver.

I used it for 3L trxns in the 1st month n they reversed the annual fee immediately - without any email or letter from my side. Good to see that.

It is evil to charge annual fees in advance. They have to go in correction mode to compensate for situations like waiver conditions, cancel/permanent block before a calendar year, etc. And if auto correction fails, one has to break their head chasing the bank. Also their is some way for auto correction to work in the case of waiver condition, for cancel/permanent block before a calendar year, the only way is to chase the bank for a refund.

My friend just got off the call with HSBC, I was with him as well. HSBC simply denied waiving off any fees whatsoever. No LTF, NO FYF. Nothing!

Anyone has any ideas how to make it happen? Emailing nodal or anything?
Sometimes, we need to pay for something that is good and useful to us. But i suppose we as indians are adamant on having most of the things for free and ozzing out each benefit from something.

This card doesnot deserve to be LTF. Just check out the distinct features, u will understand why is it not LTF. HSBC has only 2 major cards in market. How can they make both free?

The joining fees is easily recoverable and if prudently used it can be made each year free.

Ps: not an employee of hsbc, but pointing out the fact.

If anyone already had add on HSBC platinum card and they apply for hsbc live+( cashback) card as primary card holder ,will there be any issue, add on card customer are counted as existing customers?

Don’t know about live+ but i was holding platinum add on card while applying platinum card. Card approved without any issue.

Yes, addon holders are considered existing customers. There is no issue in getting Live+ if you are an addon holder. You will be primary Live+ holder.
Is there vkyc for existing add on card holders when they apply for primary card ( live plus) or by simply sending documents through mail, the card application process is being carried out?
