HSBC Live plus card for already hsbc card holder

Sobirvs

TF Premier
This is for a friend. He is a hsbc credit card only customer from 5 yrs now. He got the card when he used to do a job in 2019. Now from 3-4 yrs he is self employed. I don't think HSBC is aware of his self employed status.

He has a visa platinum LTF hsbc card.

He wants live+ card. What is the best way for him to get live+ card?? 1st, can he even get a new card coz he is self employed? will talking to customer care help?? does hsbc give pre-approved cards?? currently it shows 999 joining fee + 999 annual, can hsbc waive off these fee for already card holders and make it ltf? if yes how? if no, then can they reduce the fee or waive off atleast joining fee?

Also he saw 250 amazon voucher free, can he get that too?

Is there vkyc for existing add on card holders when they apply for primary card ( live plus) or by simply sending documents through mail, the card application process is being carried out?
As per their customer care, people holding HSBC salary or savings account won't have to go through vkyc. If a customer holds only credit card with HSBC, they have to go through vkyc.

For ,existing add on card holders they are treated like existing customers, no option for vkyc, tried to apply for wife, got some refrence number with msg that bank will contact within 2 working days.

I am holding salary account with HSBC and also have platinum card. I will apply for Live+ card next month (late Jan or early Feb). Will update how is the process after I get through.

What is the criteria for overleverage by hsbc, is it the number of credit card accounts or what times of gross annual salary, do they consider person to be overleraged? Is overleraged actually considered too strictly by them or is it just unnecessary hype? Just curious to know about people's experience.

As HSBC gives cards only to salaried class, the only option (as suggested n pushed by agents) for all categories of others ( non-salaried class) is to open their SB account and wait for pre-approval or apply via a good agent.

SB Premier - AMB of 1.5L is ideal.
(for Senior Citizens, this AMB is only 10K).

See the SS.

Senior Citizens - enjoy n make merry.

If you have no USE of platinum card just FLIP/SWAP to LIVE+.
That way you can avoid unnecessary REJECTS & CIBIL SCORE HIT
Yes, I'm going to do that only. Waiting for the welcome benefits of Platinum card.

Rs 250 - For completing VKYC
Rs 500 - For completing 5000 spend in one month

Unfortunately, HSBC is damn slow. they told it takes at least 2-3 months for these cashbacks to come.
That too I think I need to follow up many times. They are not even interested to talk about these welcome offers.

Some more I am waiting for -
Rs 100 - For installing and activating HSBC simply pay UPI.
Thriwe membership for gift vouchers - for opening salary account.

These are also pending. Sadly, HSBC is slower than tortoise in giving these offers.

Earlier I hold both HSBC Platinum and Smart Value cards. To apply HSBC Live + card, closed Smart Value card by September 1st week. After 3 days, I have applied Live + card through Cashkaro and card was approved on September last week. HSBC also provided 1000rs cash as intro offer for spent 20K within 30 days. So 1st year only paid GST for joining fee. Today I got 2200rs from Cashkaro even though I'm existing Hsbc card holder. It's like next 2 years no fees.

Pls send the cashkaro link?

Even in case of decline, do they inform or only in case of approval do they inform?
In my case, I have applied Live + card multiple times and it got declined but I never got declined message/mail even though my application was declined (holding 2 cards already - Platinum and Smart Value) . As I am existing card holder, I was asking the status directly to customer care and got the declined status and reason for decline.

There r 2 ways to get HSBC LIV + cards- 1st is to apply fresh application which will need all the documents and again verification will happen, u can get Amazon voucher in that case. 2nd is to call customer care and ask them to upgrade the existing card to LIV+, they'll do it immediately, no need of submitting any docs or verification . In none of these scenarios HSBC offers Liv+ as LTF card. One can try asking LTF HSBC card if they have some premium wealth kind of account with HSBC. I upgraded my platinum card to LIV+ card yesterday calling customer care and today I can see digital card in HSBC app.
