HSBC Live plus card for already hsbc card holder

This is for a friend. He is a hsbc credit card only customer from 5 yrs now. He got the card when he used to do a job in 2019. Now from 3-4 yrs he is self employed. I don't think HSBC is aware of his self employed status.

He has a visa platinum LTF hsbc card.

He wants live+ card. What is the best way for him to get live+ card?? 1st, can he even get a new card coz he is self employed? will talking to customer care help?? does hsbc give pre-approved cards?? currently it shows 999 joining fee + 999 annual, can hsbc waive off these fee for already card holders and make it ltf? if yes how? if no, then can they reduce the fee or waive off atleast joining fee?

Also he saw 250 amazon voucher free, can he get that too?

Me after activating the card and set PIN through IVR the digital card is not showing in app
The LIVE chat agent asked me contact customer care through call and request them to link the card to the app. WTH😡

Same is the case with me as well after flipping, only after the card was linked to app by calling customer care i was able to see card in app

Do u get 10% cashback for Flipkart Grocery and Amazon Fresh orders as well?

For Amazon fresh yes but for Flipkart grocery its hit and miss based on MCC

Thanks to your post I pursued this route. I had a platinum card from my earlier days which I spoke to customer care and flipped to Live +. I had applied for CB in past but was rejected as I'm self employed now. I have received the Live + card today and hope to use it thoroughly.

I have even received the flipped addon cards, which I had received with Platinum. Didn't have to reapply for the same.

I have read about aggregated 1000 limit for the cashback. As far as charges are concerned, I was s7rprised to read many posts where charges are being mentioned. I shall write to them and confirm about it. As such the charges are to be levied from year 2 onwards. I'll update here about their reply.
