I Made Mistake With AMEX MRCC Card

I recently applied my first AMEX CARD (MRCC) and I made a mistake. I didn’t use referral.
Now its first year fee is ₹1000 and from second year onwards ₹4500

Card is about to deliver soon

Is there any trick or method to make it first year free and from second year onwards ₹1500

Or should I cancel it and reapply, if I do it, will be there any cooling period?

You have to cancel (don’t activate) and re-apply at least after 90 days. Good thing is that referrals are running till end of Nov 2024.

I advise you not to activate it and if they phone or email , you ask them to make it first year free or lifetime free, or else you will not activate it

Continue for one year at least, later you can decide at the time of renewal.

call them and ask same referral offer. if agreed, continue else cancel and apply after 90 days (you can continue even if they waive 1K joining fee but cancel during renewal if spends not achieved). Btw, meanwhile you can apply another card from AMEX, no issues with that (either with referral or directly). Let me know if needed referral

Hi,
I currently hold
hdfc infinia ltf,
icic saphhiro ltf,
yes first exclusive ltf,
citi rewards ltf,
idfc wealth ltf.

My last credit card application was Nov 22. What should be ideal wait time for another credit card application? I am planning to apply either amex mrcc or platinum travel.

What will be chances of approval?

It should be same as your MRCC application. Else you can wait till the Approval confirmation of your earlier MRCC application. Once it is Approved, you can apply for Plantinum travel for sure.

Hope these two things work

First request for lifetime free.
if they refuse, then ask for first year free and cancel before payment of the second year fee.

Then apply again 6 months through a referral.
you need to play passing the parcel with any friend

It should be same as your MRCC application. Else you can wait till the Approval confirmation of your earlier MRCC application. Once it is Approved, you can apply for Plantinum travel for sure.
