ICICI Bank iShop Accelerated Reward Points Portal Launched - Upto 36% Reward Rate šŸ”„

As promised by ICICI Bank at the time of launching the Emeralde Private Metal Card and Times Black Card, they have introduced their Accelerated Rewards Portal, iShop by ICICI Bank. Through this portal, ICICI Bank cardholders can earn accelerated rewards when purchasing gift vouchers, booking flights, and reserving hotels.

The portal is similar to HDFC Bankā€™s SmartBuy for HDFC customers. However, ICICI Bank also offers accelerated rewards to its debit card and net banking customers, even if they don't have an ICICI credit card. The portal appears to be in beta testing, as ICICI Bank has added a "Beta" tag to the iShop logo. So, expect changes in rules and capping.

Let's dive into the details of this portal!

Reward Earning on iShop Portal

Credit Cards & Debit Cards:
  • 6X Reward Points on Flight Bookings & Shopping Vouchers
  • 12X Reward Points on Hotels
  • 4% Cashback for co-branded ICICI cards
Net Banking Customers:

  • 6% iCash on Hotels
  • NA% iCash on Shopping Vouchers

This is an amazing launch from ICICI Bank. ICICI Bank has often been tagged as a low-rewarding credit card issuer, but with this portal launch, customers can now earn significant bonus reward points using their ICICI Bank credit cards. This is a great way to revamp the bank's credit card portfolio.

One key expectation from ICICI Bank is that they should enter the airmiles game as soon as possible. According to some sources, they are already working on it. They are also aiming to launch a hotel co-branded credit card soon.

I have taken this card twice and canceled it both times. This card is generally offered as an upgrade, and in that case, an annual fee is applicable. There is no way to choose the monthly fee option, nor can you change the cardā€™s network.
Sorry to contradict to your point, I had chosen my Emeralde as upgrade on Visa Variant. Later on converted to Amex Variant. Later on changed to monthly subscription model too.

With ICICI all I can imagine is someday instead of giving rewards to user, they don't start taking reverse rewards from us. But still this look good. They may bring a 5% card like Millennia or Cashback. ICICI is Apple of India in terms of banking and Rewards. Coral Rupay gives 1 Pt per 50 and below 8000 pts you can't get anything. 4L spending = 2000. Tera khoon kab kholega ICICI. Look, SBI Card stock is zooming every other day in bear market. Kuch seekh SBI se.

Itā€™s possible, but in my case, ICICI Bank clearly denied it. I was just sharing my personal experience. Offers can vary from person to person and also depend on the customer's transaction history (TRV).

When I applied for the card, my TRV with ICICI Bank wasnā€™t particularly strong, which might have affected the offer I received.

try mailing on twitter or catch any rm they may help u change it ..

I spoke to a BM today. EPM can be initiated by branch manager, after approval we need to submit application. If you have a good, capable efficient manager it is cakewalk.
Only caveat is they don't give it just like that. You definitely need to have an account with them. Without savings account they won't even consider. Next is salary or TRV eligibilty. (TRV includes loans, FD, demat and MF, so someone with a good value should get it.)
I don't have major relation with ICICI. So I don't have much voice to push now.

This is quite good initiative by icici but still Axis is a King at travel edge as they almost giving 24% sure short returns on burgundy magnus. At icici even 36% not make sense when we get it redeemed because redemption option are not much attractive like Axis.

I don't have any TRV with ICICI bank, it's just CC relationship. Yes agree on varying from person to person.

The Times Black card looks decent now that Ishop has been released šŸ¤”. I've seen in earlier discussions that a lot of people have said that this is the worst card anyone could ever accept.

Corect, only the branch manager and your relationship manager (RM) can apply for this card. I confirmed this today and submitted my request to the branch manager this eveningā€”letā€™s see how it unfolds.

Interestingly, I discovered that if your branch manager isnā€™t assisting you and you are a Wealth or Private Banking customer, you can seek help from any branch manager across India. So, I submitted my card request to a different branch manager nearbyā€”waiting to see their response.

Meanwhile, I have filed a high-level complaint against my home branch manager and RM, which has been ongoing for the past 20 days. As a result, one RM lost their job, and a deputy branch manager was transferred. Yet, they still havenā€™t learned their lesson. Iā€™ll wait a few more days before escalating the matter directly to the RBI Ombudsman, where I plan to claim at least ā‚¹1 lakh for mental harassment. šŸ˜…

One thing is clear: Private Banking customers receive significant priority. They even replaced two employees because of my case. The situation is getting quite interestingā€”Iā€™m considering writing a detailed post about it.

I have been using apay icici card from 2.5 years I didn't felt a need to apply for another icici card as I was having infinia & Amex platinum travel but now I want to apply but i don't have any income proof to show.

Can I get a good icici card to utilise this accelerated rewards ? How should I apply? I was getting msgs for adani one card but i didn't apply

If you already have an ICICI Bank credit card, you can apply for a mid-range card onlineā€”it will get approved instantly with the same credit limit. Just make sure to select 'salaried' as your employment type. No income proof will be required.

After some time, that single card will start getting upgrade offers for various other ICICI credit cards, one by one. However, the Times Black credit card must be applied for separately. For the Metal Emerald Edition, a strong transaction history (TRV) is required.
