ICICI sapphiro 3 variants issued

I have icici salary account and my sal >2L
Have wealth account with nrv approx 10L
Have apay and coral cards

I applied online using account aggregator, which was declined. Don't know reason. Got couple of calls from agents, told me that my company was not in icici pay roll even though it is listed, so LTF is not possible.

I gave up on new card. Instead started trying for upgrade route. Have asked on twitter and icici level 1 support. Got negative response from both that LTF not possible.

I escalated to Level 2 support and on other hand i wrote an detailed mail to headservicequality.

Got call from level 2 and said we can offer u ltf sapphiro, which variant u want amex+mc or visa. I asked amex+cc and he raised SR and its pending.

After 2 days I received an email from headservicequality that they raised request for ltf visa sapphiro card. They didn't give me option.

On that moment 2 SRs were pending. I thought anyone would approve. To my surprise, both got approved day after day.
Now I received Visa, Amex, Master variants of sapphiro card.

I'm Quite lucky in my case. Hope this info might useful for some people.

Update : 2 dreamfolks cards received. So both variants are separate I guess

congratulations !! ....and good to hear the story. May be inspiration or route to get one for others. Only question is what will you do with all 3 cards?. I understand that there are Visa, MC, Amex specific offers, but they are limited. Apart from BOGO, Lounge and Spa ( if you are really into travelling) Sapphiro has hardly anything. Only good part is all are LTF, so no harm in keeping those.

I just use them for bank offers, nothing else. What can you expect from ICICI Bank!

I just use them for bank offers, nothing else. What can you expect from ICICI Bank!

While i had paid rubyx card for 1.5 yrs i tried using amex and MC variant seperately on BBD sale and they both offered discounts independently...so a double benefit for these card holders...

Finally received the card. They are giving LTF if you own any type of loan from them.

I got issued the visa variant Ltf, raised request for mc+amex on twitter, however upon receipt of the card they immediately cancelled my visa card. No retention call was recieved

Before the card was cancelled,

ICICI Sapphiro Visa credit card
or
just ICICI Credit card ?

For ex: For master card, it shows : ICICI Sapphiro Master card.
For amex it shows: ICICI Sapphiro(American Express)

At present they are issuing Sapphiro card in Amex and MC variant.

In my humble opinion. There is no point to convert visa to mc+amex.
You have to carry two cards instead of one
Your offers and lounge accesses are divided amongst the two cards
BmS bogo offer is halved as amex cashback is not guaranteed and even if it comes it will be delayed.

As far as now, the converted dual cards got delivered today. As far as I can see...I can see my VISA to be shown on the app as per the below attached screenshot. Will my VISA variant get cancelled? As of now, I can see all the 3 variants on the app.

Sapphiro variant is mentioned as: ICICI credit card in the below list. Btw, no SR is generated to cancel the VISA variant as of now. They only raised the SR to convert it into Dual Variant one.

Let's hope they don't. How did u request the conversion? If thru email then they will mention the same in email that they ll cancel it post issuance.

Sapphiro visa is looking same for all.
Blank red colour, ideally i thought it should be blue

Once you activate dual cards the visa one will be cancelled. I did this mistake. You don't activate the cards for some time....after say 10 days you activate... probably better chance to retain all3

Hi Community Members

I have a question with me right now. Need some suggestion. I recently applied for a LTF Sapphiro credit card on Aug 22 2023 and Visa variant LTF was issued without any problem. However, after seeing many people holding 3 variants at a time, I tried converting the existing Visa variant to a Dual one on Sep 6, 2023 by just bluffing to the twitter team that the Visa variant is not working at a particular merchant...blah..blah..blah. Finally, they issued a dual variant card and the same got delivered on Sep 11 2023.

But, but, but, I asked the customer service manager to call me before cancelling the Visa variant as I will be using it regularly(Otherwise they would have closed it without asking me, just after the dual variant cards got delivered). Today(Sep 19, 2023) I received a call from the same manager that they will be cancelling the Visa card, as I am not allowed to hold the 3 variants at a time. But, people are holding 3 variants here. I wanted to hold the 3 variants with me for BMS Offers and Lounge access. I just bluffed to the manager that I am on a foreign trip right now and the cards are delivered to my home address and I didn't get them to hold physically to use them and I have only this card for my foreign travel(Visa variant of Sapphiro) as my expenses are being done on this card here on my travel and so, I requested her to hold the card until I get back to India. All this was just to postpone the cancellation of Visa variant.

I need suggestion on How to ask the team to hold/postpone the cancellation of the Visa variant for sometime, after which they might forget that I hold 3 cards or they will be busy with other tickets raised or whatever. Or, How do I explain them/bluff them to hold all the 3 variants? Any ideas/tricks are welcome.


This is what is happening rn bro.

After this discussion what did that cc person told you.
Ideally they will have service requests which they can close only after resolving them.
Not sure how they will proceed in this case.
