I've been following this thread since the card was initially launched, and I was one of the first few to get it after weighing its pros and cons. Unfortunately, two days ago, I lost my card, and now the replacement fee is ₹4100 (including GST) for the metal card. IDFC offered a plastic replacement for ₹100 + GST, but I declined as the true appeal of the Mayura card lies in its metal design.
I believe I shouldn't have to wait until next year for closure 🤣

Nothing for me except BOGO offer along with the looks which is quite is appealing

Yep, that's why I'm not getting replacement and just waiting for bonus 10,000 points to get credited so that I can close this card

What you will get by closing the card before 1 year, just keep it for online transactions until next year renewal....
You can anyhow use the digital card for your BOGO movie offers...

You mean the digital card which cost 299+GST? Isn't the digital card different? coz the joining bonus of 4*1000 spends is not eligible for the digital one associated with it so I'm under the impression that I wouldn’t be getting the BOGO offers either! Could you clarify if that's the case?

You got your Metal card , you did txn and you got Cashback of 4k and waiting for 10k bonus rp , then you lost your card and want to close the card after receiving 10k rp, this is my understanding
My question is have you blocked your card already and raised request for replacement card ?
Just disable offline , pos , atm txn on your card from the IDFC app and use that card for making online spends or whatsoever the offer you want to avail, only if you dont want to get a new Physical card in any form factor (Metal or Plastic) by paying fees.
Lounge Access is anyhow provided by Dreamfolks which can be accessed by generating QR.
I am still evaluating what benefits you get by preclosing your card before completing 1 Year, after getting the 10k bonus RP
I guess you should take the plastic card just for backup
So, I blocked my card as it was lost but didn't go for replacement as they were only giving replacement for metal card only which cost ₹4100 and denied giving option for plastic replacement. So, that's why I was thinking for getting this closed after getting 10k bonus RP
They are not issuing me the plastic card stating they have not gone live for plastic card replacement

Ask them if they can issue only a Digital card.
If they agree then you are sorted for 1 year.

Just view the number, cvv, expiry in online app/website.
And use that for online purchases especially BMS. Then close before renewal.
You literally have card number in your hand, no need to close now, IMO.
But they can't charge fee until card activation, right? There is some rule around that.

What rule. In India rules and all are for the customers and common people. No rules for banks and businesses they can do whatever they want and no one will ask. East India Company again, but only this time it is in India only.
Not yet. For the first batch might be in November.
