Is is true that if you open accounts online, the branch people don't take care of you or give services properly?

I have an experience with some sfb where when I opened account online and then reached out to home branch I feel I'm not give customer centric preference.
Do they not have any motivation for serving customers who opened the account digitally on their own.
Please share your experience.

It's not about opening account online or offline..
Most of the banks these days just chase you until the account are opened.. Once done most of them are least bothered even the well established ones.
Sad reality..

No it is false.
I opened my hdfc salary account online through a virtual RM and tagged it to a nearby branch.
They take care of me properly. They call me every month to ask if I need any help.
Other than that I don't expect any additional care from them. More care is dangerous. They will try to sell ULIPs and ask for FDs. So I am keeping a little bit distance from them.

Hdfc, icici, idfc, rbl, axis, bob (except some specific variant ac's) assigns ac to branch.... they need to take as usually....

Federal has neo banking partners like jupiter and fi ... here we will face issue

Also kotak intro.... 811 where a separate dedicated team exists, as its 0 balance dc br people wont care, but not that worse.

It all depends upon branch .
I opened canara and hdfc online .
Canara treated very nicely being a psu however , HDFC treats like I am from another universe.

Like many people above said that it's depends bank to bank. In case the manager has opened the account himself then there must be a personal connection or the manager might have assured the customer that he will personally cater to them. Also there is a possibility that the manager has opened a particular premium account with the assurance that he will act as their RM. In case of other RMs the level of service depends on your profile and the extent of possibility of cross selling products to you.

Even if ur maintaining a premium account but the probability of getting some additional business like ulip, term plan etc is slim then they stop caring about you. the RM is generally given a set of clients from whom he has to generate a certain amount of business. If you give them that they treat you like a king else they will only care when you go for closure.

When my brother having imperia account requested his RM to help me open my savings account the RM told me that I can open the account online. However when I went to the branch and gave a decent amount cheque for account opening the RM called by brother and requested my account to be mapped under him.

Also I had my HDFC RM ready to visit my place just to give me a signature verification but when I told him that I am not interested in ulip that he was pitching immediately he told me that I can get the verification done by visiting branch.

So as per my knowledge online offline doesn't matter in most cases. The level of service depends on how much business can be garnered from you.

Translation pls. It means it's not right. right?
I feel they only call us n offer products for their benefits or targets that needs to be achieved via us

Only few help us genuinely. I firmly believe that if I need something from the bank then I must ask the bank and not the other way where bank always pesters me with their products n do cross selling of their products for their profits

It depends. Here's the accounts I opened online:
HDFC SavingsMax: Great service at branch, great online customer care
Axis Liberty: Terrible service at branch, great online customer care
ICICI: Terrible service at branch, great online customer care
BOB:
Terrible service at branch
Union Bank:
Terrible service at branch, pathetic online customer care
RBL:
Great service at branch, great online customer care
Bank of Maharashtra:
Terrible service at branch, pathetic online customer care
PNB:
Terrible service at branch, pathetic online customer care
AU:
Terrible service at branch

Then again accounts which I opened at branch:
IndusInd Exclusive: Terrible service at branch, pathetic online customer care
Yes Bank: Great service at branch, great online customer care
Federal Bank:
Great service at branch, great online customer care
DBS:
Great service at branch, great online customer care
Kotak 811:
Great service at branch, great online customer care
Canara Bank:
Great service at branch,
IDFC:
Great service at branch, great online customer care
SBI:
Great service at branch

So, customer care of these banks is totally different from service at branch. And then again besides the bank's culture and corporate ethics, each branch experience also varies
