Jio Recharge Plan Hike - Effective 3rd July 2024

Yes, I get your perspective. But if you are opting for 1899 (jio) pack your motive is to use mobile data as less as possible and utilise that 24GB for the whole year.

If the data consumption is huge, 1899 doesn't make any sense.
For secondary numbers/ family members.

I have separate plan for mey primary no.

Parents like feature phone. They don't want smart phone.

I just noticed the plans which you were taking about 139/69 are the once which has the same validity as your existing pack which is nice. So you can have 1 365 days pack and couple of 139s.

Mc airtel has removed those plans. So, for me 2249 is the only good option. Jio is still good.

The word used for Airtel here is a little one. They deserve more than being MC. 🤣

Personal View: People have to understand that tariffs are still too cheap as compared with what Airtel, Vodafone and idea use to charge. AT that time spectrum cost was low but they charged exhobitantly and always looted customers. Now companies have paid too much for 4G/5G spectrum and they will recover cost. Business is not charity.

People are hurt because they were used to having a sim active with lifetime validity before with operators like Aircel, Docomo, Uninor, Reliance GSM, MTS, Loop, Videocon, St-Tel etc. and just kept Rs.10-20 top up balance and made a few seconds of call to keep it active.

In last 10 years minimum wages are 6 times up and even I don't see labour of Bihar/UP crying like some peple do here.

Trust me, people were spending like 300-400 oer month for nothing before Jio era and having mobile for everyone was not a need.

People are hurt because now they have to keep rechrging for all the members. Arrey bhai salaries bhi 5-7 times increase ho chuki hai but tariffs fir bhi theek hai. Who asking you to have multiple sims for OTPs so that you can loot online offers?

The school, college goers aka the unemployed people and those who live on pocket money from parents were crying, are crying and will keep crying always.

Banks ke loan apne jeb se ni denge Ambani aur Mittal.

India has the cheapest tariffs in the world with minimum wages to tariffs parity still low. If Govt want they can subsidize and give DBT to poor class. But problem is even good health and wealth people will show them as poor to gain benefit. That's the unfortunate state of our country that poor has to suffer because middle class to rich try to take benefit of scheme that are actually for low income group.

Middle class people have to come out of their cheap mentality sooner than later. If someone have big dreams, work hard rather than waiting and living of small freebies and expecting everything from Govt.

Facts bhai, one example which comes top of my head is that BSNL broadband era where we used to pay 600-700 for 2GB speed per month. Airtel was charging 1199 for 10mbps for 30 days and it was average broadband.

Jio ke aane ke baad, everyone had to adjust and we are still not paying much as compared to other countries. Telecom is still very cheap in india and we are getting somewhat decent speed.

I'm expecting another hike in 2025 end - 2026 start.

Wohi toh Unlimited 5G mil rahi hai 350 mein or if one goes for yearly pack then around 280-300 fir bhi. Jisko sirf calls sms chahiye woh agar 150/month nahi de sakta toh sim bandd kar de. Ab hamarey rone se companies charity thodi karengi. Getting cheap is not a fundamental right. People talk about becoming like America and Europe and trust me if we do most of people will start crying. These countries don't do aprtiality based on economic condition and if you are poor you won't be entitled for cheaper stuff unlike India where people enjoy too much yet cry. Kabhi apne ghar se bahar nikley toh sahi fir pata lagega kitni aish mein hai yah log.

Apni smartness bhi use nahi kartey kai log, vaise toh bahot smart bantey hai. Like in 2019 I asked many to go for 399/444 vouchers but at that time they were like "Kitna increase kar lenge? Why to invest for long" Even after first hike many didn't understood the impact but many did.

So smart people who were really having sense invested in 2019 then 2021 and enjoying now and also getting UL 5G on their older vouchers.

The people who are really poor are getting subsidized with BSNL. Other who pretend to be poor should learn to live hard way.

these telecom companies are just making a mockery of the new affordable pack rules...i can see on jio website....1958 plan gives just calling and sms...no data....for 365 days...if you're not giving any data then reduce the dan price na...why keep it so high..just for voice and sms.....

Can we buy 1958 plan with no data and add data from existing plan validity? that will still work out cheaper for who uses data, not for one who uses calls alone

Smartness tak toh thik hay... but oversmartness se darr lagta hay viru bhai.

Kya pata naya rule/ regulation ah jaye that all old recharge will be valid up to, say, Dec 2025 because of some policy tweak.

Fortunately, that is not happening... Hence, U win.. I lose. That's the result.
So enjoy! let common people suffer at the cost of over-smart people, companies and govt. policy.

3599 yearly plan 2.5 GB per day looks reasonable. Can get from 1% or more using credit cards.
Can get Rs 100 if used on Amazon RPDC Friday offer.

Airtel is more suited for postpaid customers, particularly those who have some form of reimbursement from their office and also have multiple SIM in their family with varied use. For single prepaid user, it is now too costly. Even Jio is becoming costlier for single user.

All legal material with me incl. screenshots of TnC for vouchers. You think our judiciary is too weak to get tweaked? Even if they change I will be liable to get compensation.

Even if they change date we will be given time to redeem them. Vaise bhi aane wale time pe family ke no.s mein hi daalney hai.Without intimation they can't just take it away.
🤣

Post was not for you, anyways. I said about people around me who were oversmart not to think it through when I was telling them in 2019. Some even say, what if they decrease price in future, you will be in loss and I was like, I am sure they will keep it same but won't decrease. So that thought was actually unrealisitc of prices decreasing. To make a decision you have to go through every small thing and what can come.

For poor, there is already JioPhone and Jiobharat with Rs.91 plan and Rs.123 plan. Jio gave enough time to people at Rs.49 28 days. Even before they jacked up they offered 28+28 days for Rs.49 for Jiophone users. But people were thinking prices will keep falling.

Overall I can say, for 8 years p[eople enjoyed and now it's time for average. Even after paying next 8 years people will have better average spend that last 2 decades.

Jio was the first company that gave time to people and asked to recharge them in advance before price hike else in past we saw other ops increasing it overnight with no intimation.

In 2019 they started telling people about price increase from Dec 6 in Nov itself. In Nov 2021, they ran offer of 20% Jiomart cashback and people were able to recharge at 2019 prices too. 555 recharge was costing 444 only and it ran from Oct 12 to Nov 30. We as Indians always fall behind because we hesitate to have a longer view. We always look for short time gains but never go into bigger picture. Same with investment. Some people think investing in longer term safe products will give them nothing so they risk and make a view for short term only.

BSNL is zindabad for secondary sim @Rs.30/month with Rs.2/2 days balance cut.

They hiked the plans price and removed the data thus forcing users to go for expensive plans.
BSNL ₹201(Kolkata Circle) plan is best for 90 days.

201 plan is available to all circles albeit you are in Grace 2 validity. I mostly use this once incoming expires. You can use Amazon-RuPay platinum Friday offer to get it at Rs.160.80 only. But this plan will be withdrawn by March or before 🤣

Also if someone wants it more cheaper they can just recharge with Rs.10/20/30 if OG is active or Rs.50 topup till incoming is active and stay active with Rs.2/2 days deduction. Your service remains active and you can send SMS too for verification of apps. In some circle they charge.

Person working at BSNL as they have got the internal note. By March BSNL has to complete 4G roll out for Phase 2 which is going on. Tariff hike put on hold till March and then boom. Many old plans to be removed or benefits cut. Put on hold due to Delhi elections currently else it was decided after Jan 26, 2025. Once, Phase 3 is completed and 5G rollout starts you will see tariffs of BSNL nearly equal to what Jio has today and Jio will be 10-15% higher by this year end.

The GMs at BSNL have been directed to have atleast 250 ARPU in Tier 1 cities while minimum 150-175 in Tier 3 and 2 respectively. We all know what kind of network BSNL has but they have to charge to get better as no company can provide better network with cheap tariffs. Telecom is a capital hungry sector. Currently everything on hold at BSNL and before budget Govt don't want to face anger of middle class. So effectively April 2025 i.e new FY, you will see BSNL also joining the tariff hike race. They haven't participated much in last two hikes.

But remember they will continue to look cheaper than others both in terms of price and QoS.

bhai in short everyone in this country will be paying atleast 2.5k for the most basic annual plans in next 3-4 yrs...be it jio, airtel, vi, or bsnl....6g aayega...7g aayega...pata nai...ek simple porn video logo kitne kam time mein chahiye...1 min mein chahiye ab toh logo ko...

after 10 yrs...this 2.5 k will increase to atleast 3k...
