Hi.

In February

So February 14 kotak 811 team silently add the additional terms for cashback.

Transactions on below categories will not be considered for cashback:
Loan repayment
Wallet load transactions
Utilities payment

kotak can change terms and conditions anytime but they can't apply a condition that didn't exist on the day of transaction.

So my January month transaction of rs 10k done under utility mcc has been declined cashback by kotak 811 under false pretenses as confirmed by kotak 811 executive on the call after i requested callback on the kotak 811 app.

So i will be filing a rbi ombudsman complaint if i dont get rs 500 cashback for January month transaction.

I got response from them today saying mcc was eligible for cashback in December month and in January month I made transaction on Unipay and they changed TnC so it is not eligible.

What is next we can do??

If this is pno leave it, imo rbi ombudsman is not worth for 500, if its l1 you can escalate just make sure that your transaction is before tnc change

It's PNO, their practice is completely cheating, there policy must be clear at the time of transaction. After transaction they cannot deny rewards.

Cheating is cheating. They must be penalized for malpractices.

I'm seeking guidance on how we can take it to RBI ombudsman and consumer forum.

usually i just use level1 supports reply to open rbi complaint
 
I wanted to know, is there any way to check the mcc code before or AFTER spending on any website ?!
And also if I buy Amazon pay gv from amazon itself am I eligible for cashback, after t&C updated, if not which other website can I use?!

Most importantly park+ is eligible, right ?!

If the response itself is disputed then. If it's a case of cheating and case of malpractice then. They have responded and denied. It's not about 500 now. I don't want them to go easily after cheating and malpractice. Although I don't believe in our government institutions but I will put some efforts for own satisfaction.

To be on safe need to file rbi ombudsman complaint from 30 days from sending the first mail. There you can claim additional amount like 5k/10k for the harassment faced by you so it is not only matter of rs 500.

You mentioned them that that their t and c changed on 28 January and you made transaction before 28th.

I guess you don't know much about how rbio works. Since when did cb delay/refusal became on par with delayed refunds/delayed reversal of failed transfers/denial of service like cash withdrawal without reason etc? It will be extremely lucky if ppl here get even 500 cb approved on the basis of this "T&C changed on a later date" from rbi ombudsman.
 
Even after explaining the case multiple times and escalation, I am getting the same reply from Kotak. I guess no other option but to go RBIO way. It's not only about Rs.500, but Kotak can do away with changing their terms arbitrarily and exclude any transaction with retrospective effect to cheat their customers. That shouldn't be allowed!
