OK thanks for your advise. I will wait till Tuesday to see if flipcart cc paymebt gives 8k welcome points or not. If not will do another transaction elsewhere. I hope the t&c don't mention that only first transaction is eligible for 8k rewards.

Ya, Firstap charge Rs99 but you will get 8k welcome rewards.

+ Firstap is RuPay Platinum DC variant, same reward rate you get on wealth card but RuPay variant accept on Canara Setu (RuPay variant sitll working) and Phonepe app.

so, in short, Firstap RuPay Platinum DC is better option to get reward points on CC bill payment.

Normal acc - you will reached 8k reward capping within 2 days.
Wealth acc - you will reached 50k reward capping within 6 days.

Btw I somehow thinking 50k capping for wealth visa and first tap both are seperate. If they welcome pts are separate, makes sense if capping are also seperate. Will have to wait just few days more to confirm this as I have done 1L+ trxn already, once rewards come..

I am your Maths AI Teacher,

As per your query, IDFC has reward system that provides you 3 points per Rs.150 spent for first Rs. 50,000.00 which means 50000/150*3= 1000 Pts for Select account holders upto maximum 30000 pts.

After that for every 100 spent you get 10 RPs. So for rest 29000 spend Rs.2,90,000. Total- Rs.3,40,000.

Here are the details fetched from IDFC First website,

1. 250 points on first Bill payment through savings account via app/ net banking every month
250 points for FIRST Select, 250 points for FIRST Wealth and 250 points for FIRST Private

2. 2000 points on first debit card transaction above Rs. 1000
4000 welcome points for FIRST Select, 8000 welcome points for FIRST Wealth and 20000 welcome points for FIRST Private. *Valid only if you are using your Debit Card for the first time; that is, if you’ve never previously spent using your Debit Card before 14th July, 2023

3. 1X point for every Rs. 150 spent via debit card on offline purchase
2X points for FIRST Select, 3X points for FIRST Wealth and 4X points for FIRST Private

4. 2X points for every Rs. 150 spent via debit card all online purchases
3X points for FIRST Select, 4X points for FIRST Wealth and 6X points for FIRST Private

5. 10X reward points for every Rs. 150 spent via debit card on incremental monthly spends above Rs. 50,000 in a month
Applicable for monthly spends above Rs. 50,000 for FIRST Select on every Rs. 100, above Rs. 50,000 for FIRST Wealth on every Rs. 100 and above Rs. 50,000 for FIRST Private on every Rs. 100 (w.e.f. 1st December 2023).

How many transactions were you able to do from one number before you got the error?

Now the 3rd number also got blocked with the same error. This is after just 3 successful transactions. The issue triggered after the latest transaction errored out due to an issue at the payment gateway (When using IDFC cards, it seem to error out a lot), and then while the transaction was pending, I tried to re-try the transaction, and that's when I started getting the error.

This is getting ridiculous, clearly a bug with the site.

The same happened to me...first transaction got failed..had to go for another time..then faced this issue.

Update: Rupay variant working with Setu. Problem only with VISA/Master.

Wait till tuesday, also apply IDFC firstap RuPay Platinum Dc and use on Canara setu.

You will get another 8k welcome rewards. so total 16k welcome reward (8k+8k) on both card.

Doing bill payments using IDFC rupay card also gives me a welcome reward. Or do I need to 1500+ separate?

You can initiate the transaction at any online Need not be necessary that it should be cc payment only.
You can buy anything online or buy Gv from various portals. (Make sure transactions amount is >=1500 for safer side).


Answer to your question: Yes hopefully it should be counted but i am not sure about the mcc. To be safe side, just buy anything online gift vouchers/online orders
