Marriott vs Accor points

I have booked dozens of hotels in the past year in India and abroad with Smartbuy. In every single case, the hotel was cheaper (often substantially) on Smartbuy vs. booking.com, MMT, Expedia, Cleartrip etc even without the reward points.
It's a typical YMMV kind of situation. My experience is that if you are looking for 4* +, the prices don't vary much (for 5* properties the variation is extremely low), for 3* and lower the variation is very high (both ways). Ofcourse once again YMMV

For 2 star, 2.5* and 3* star properties, which is the cheapest option

After getting the Infinia, I never stay in anything below 4 stars. Four stars in India are equivalent to 2 to 3 stars abroad. Most 5 stars in India (not premier ones like the Oberoi) are actually 4 star at best. So I now enjoy 4 to 5 stars at 33% discount.
