Yes, this was implemented since the last codes distribution.

Either giveaway the code or wait if you membership expires before the coupon's expiry date.

I was able to instantly enroll with I Prefer but still waiting for Accor. It's been over 10 days since I enrolled. Frustratingly, there is no clarity on timeline. Ts & Cs say it might take up to 60 days. I don't understand why this is being dragged out.

Update: I finally got the Accor plus membership email from Accor. Got me the 20 status nights I needed to get to Gold so I am glad I waited. Only downside: You don't get any of the regional stay/meal vouchers that you get with a paid Accor Plus Traveller membership. Vouchers are cut down to 4 generic vouchers. Anyway, will consider buying the membership early next year if/when I cancel my Platinum Card! 😉

Hi, I took the card last year when 1.1L points were offered. I havent used it much and am up for a renewal. I don't think I can get any value from the almost 80k fee now. If I cancel it now, will I be eligible for any offers like 1.35L points for first year again or is it once only per user?

Secondly, I see it has offers like 3rd night complimentary in Oberoi, 2nd night complimentary in Lalit etc. I have never used these in my first year, but is it easy to use and are rooms easily available for this? Cause if it is easy, I can at least derive some value via this. Otherwise, the card seems useless to me.

Yes rooms are easily available in oberoi and Lalit unless it is sold out. I think amex has stopped Mr points offer until u negotiate and max 1lkh MR points. Else u have to wait for the offer to be rolled out once you cancel it.

Will Amex offer retention/renewal benefits like MR points in the Platinum Charge card over and above the stated renewal benefits of Rs 35,000 worth of hotel stay vouchers on spending more than Rs 20 Lakhs annually? They had announced the Rs 35,000 renewal benefit when they had refreshed the Platinum Charge card in October 2024.

My Platinum Charge card is up for renewal later this year, and I will definitely cross the limit of over Rs 20 Lakh annual spends by then. If Amex offers extra MR points over and above the Rs 35,000 worth of hotel vouchers, I might keep the card for another year.

Spending 20 lakhs plus on Amex isn't worth it if you are worried about a 75k annual fee. These cards aren't meant for rewards or financial benefit.
