If they reversed RP's from the transaction done on and after 1 Jan 2023, that will be a disaster for most of the millennia users (Including me) as it gives 5% cb on amazon and flipkart both

Agar inhone bhi SBI ka path follow kiya for reversing RP's(1RP=1Re) toh badi dikkat ho jayegi
this is a good case for the consumer court
no rule can be applied retrospectively

Lol. Yeh bhi SBI Card se seekha hai. Abruptly change kar do T&C bina customer ko bataye and same file name se save kar do taaki customer ko na pata lage.
Doesn't matter if it so, if the rule is arbitrary the courts have every right to struck it down. Further in standard form of contracts other party either has to accept the contract or reject it there is no option to bargain. So they can't add any and every clause and exploit the consumers.

aise toh they also give some 1/2% discount on gyftr, that doesn't mean you will stop getting rewards from there too

but for normal shopping, the 5% would still be there
its just that you won't get both i.e. double dip (instant discount + 5%CB)
so, if 5%CB > instant discount, deal over hone ke baad buy kar lena
