Payzapp + Red Girraffe MCC Patched

Payzapp has corrected the MCC for rent transactions done on Red Girraffe. I did a transaction yesterday and the merchant name is reflected as PZRENT. The transaction got settled today and Axis has charged a 1% rent surcharge + GST as well. So it’s no longer reflected as a utility transaction

I got points from magnus . paid 2 weeks back but the overall payout was too much . On 30k , I had to pay redgirraffe charges , then 1% + GST . overall paid around 500 .

This is with new app right. Old version still recognises it as non-rent i.e. insurance txn.

One point to note is that earlier we could mobikwik to pay HDFC CC bills to get 1%. Now that’s not possible, so your 1% goes away.

That is different from paying rent via CC (different scenario)..right? Also, the scenario that you mentioned, Is it true? Like anyone tried and didn't get points? Do we also not get points while paying other bank CC via hdfc bill pay with debit card?

Oh didn’t see you’re a Neo. Let me explain.

When you pay rent using other credit cards, you may get reward points on that CC. Now when you pay the CC bill using HDFC BILLPAY, you get 1% more due to HDFC DC.
If you use HDFC BILLPAY+CC to pay rent, you get reward points. But now you won’t get 1% more because you can’t pay HDFC CC bill using HDFC DC. Earlier this was possible due to Mobikwik, but now it has been patched.

I dont think you get the points now since the tagging of insurance is removed now and it is classified as pure rent now due to which no reward points .

I did 2 months ago , no extra charges . I am paying using hdfc bill pay for last 2 months , i am getting the cashback

Ok, back to BoB eterna after almost one year 🙂 Hope eterna continues to give rewards for payzapp loading. For 1000rs wallet load, they gave 150 points and now again loaded another 25K and paid rent. Lets see whether they give rewards for this 25K or not.

Yes, it is giving. Last transaction was on 28th September.

I also got it . No point applying for SBI Vistara for me now till this is live . The hassle is not worth the 6k-7k extra yearly benefit in SBI Vistara

Also, I encourage people in community and in this thread to update here if reward points are not received after rent payment through hdfc bill pay->redgirraffe in case HDFC patches this path as well.
