PNB Credit cards experience | Application process and time

Brother when did you get the credit enquiry?
Just checked my CIBIL Enquiry details, for my credit card application PNB did an enquiry under Auto Loan Personal category with an enquiry amount of 20,00000 isn't this insane 😵. Looks like their developer used the source code of their vehicle loan portal and forgot to change the enquiry category and loan amount. Should I complaint to PNB nodal officer about this?

Yes you should, this is insane
 
Applied for PNB Platinum yesterday and completed the VKYC today, PNB is miles behind the likes of IDFC bank when it comes to a smooth onboarding process. Still better than earlier when a person had to visit their branch and needed to fill a lengthy form, provide a long list of documents and flatter their brute employees just to get a credit card.

Now you have a website https://apply.pnbcard.in/ using which you can raise a credit card request, submit the documents online and use a not so efficient VKYC portal https://videokyc.pnbcard.in to complete your VKYC.

Be aware that their VKYC executives follow their own standard time and they do not have any respect for the time slot in which your VKYC is scheduled. I waited almost an hour just to get my VKYC done.

Even after the successful VKYC, I haven't heard back from their side yet, no emails and no messages.

PNB web interface for applying credit card is still very crude, however it gets the job done, thousand times better than the manual approach of applying the credit card earlier with them.
Can Applying Is Possible Without Income Documents?

Received a heartfelt letter from PNB bank for the users of this community.

Dear Techno fino users,

Please don't bombard PNB with so many card requests, our poor PNB servers and VKYC executives can barely process a single card request per day that too we need snail's pace to look after each application.

We are still living in our babudome, where each card request takes lots of requesting, flattering and pleading, how on planet earth can you expect us to leave that red-tapism and expect a faster turn around. It's true that we have allowed the online applications for credit card but that doesn't mean you will get our cards instantly.

With our PSU virtue, while designing this online system we have made sure that it even if it is a computer it should harass the potential customer to the brim, we have ingrained such harassment at every step of our card onboarding process.

Let us quote some examples here.
1. First of all you will not be able to get the link to apply for PNB cards so easily, we deliberately kept our SEO guy on an unconditional leave so that this site becomes almost invisible on Google. After all how can we let a potential customer scot free with the card without visiting our branch at least 10 times.

2. Even if you manage to go to our website, https://pnbcard.in/ we still show a PDF form prominently which you need to fill and submit to any of our branches in-person. In this in-person interaction we will make sure that you visit at least 10 counters within our branch, only to be told at the last counter "Abhi lunch time ho gaya 3 baje baad aana".

3. Even if some smart brains still manage to find our website https://apply.pnbcard.in/ we will make sure that person faces obstacles at every level, see we have tried to gamified the entire experience by giving you goose bumps in form of showing random errors of special characters, showing ITR forms to those having salary slips and salary slips to those having their own business.

4. Even if you are those lucky few who manage to clear the form obstacles, we have another level for you in form of VKYC portal, which will still allow you to schedule a slot for your VKYC only to make sure that none of our executives become available in that duration.

5. We also observed some lunatics who kept on hitting the Call Now button and kept on disturbing our VKYC executives' noon siesta. For such pesters, we have another way of tackling them, on call we say that VKYC is done but in reality we don't share any status with them and keep them guessing about their application status.

Finally we at PNB, proudly wanted to show you earthly human beings that your card request is at our mercy, we don't care if you own Infinia, Indulge, Private or an Ultimate. All we care is you visit our branch, visit all those 10 counters only to be told to come after lunch time, you should curse yourself for the moment when you choose to apply for a PNB card, and just when you are at the brink of loosing hope, that time we will show our mercy and will offer you our PNB card with a limit of 15000 with our big heart.

We want to make this experience so memorable that you will cherish your PNB card for your entire life. We hope you will live long enough to tell such tales about such an arduous card application process to your grand kids.

Secondly this letter should be sent to PNB to let them feel shame about their situation.

Thirdly, PNB is even better than Union Bank of India who actually took an application for a Credit Card & did everything starting from making an enquiry till limit decision without having understood that the card actually exists in papers till now, issuance is not yet started.

I am seeing this blank page only. How to do vkyc or physical kyc?

As the page itself says it is a test page, looks like the developer who was working on this page deployed the wrong code on production website, and since this site belongs to PNB, nobody in the higher ups would give a damn about such mistakes. Had it been some other private bank, the entire vendor team who is developing this website would have shown the door by the management.

Anyways, for you mate, I would recommend two options, either wait for the developer who deployed the test code to production realise his mistake and undo his wrongdoings or simply drop an email to care@pnb.co.in along with the screenshot of this error.

Chances are pretty high that someone from their care team would spare sometime from their free schedule to care to respond to your email within next 48 hours. Also, don't keep high hopes as their responses are mostly templated response and apart from apologising they can't do much as they themselves are helpless.

Still don't loose hope, after all when there is a will there is a way, keep on trying some day PNB will show mercy on you and you will get their card via website.
 
Checked with customer care two days back and according to them the application is still under 'Work in progress' status. According to the customer care executive, on an average an application takes around a month to process. In some cases this duration can be higher.
An update here guys, two days back I received an SMS from PNB Cards stating that my application is laying discrepant and an action is required from my side.

Contacted their customer support, they asked me to visit nearest branch, informed them that I don't have any account with PNB and I applied for the card using PNB's card portal, at first the executive was perplexed (must be thinking how this dude managed to come across all those obstacles which they have put in for the online application 😉 ) after some convincing she acknowledged and asked me to drop an email to their customer care with all the income documents, when I informed them that I already shared those documents in the online application, she mentioned that they can't find those documents in the online application and they have to be submitted again (apparently due to the shoddy work done by their IT team or lack of knowledge of the backend team about how to view the attached documents 😡).

Shared the documents again but no acknowledgement so far. Looks like PNB is not yet ready with this online application thing, I don't see the card coming in the days to come.
