PNB Elite Savings Account

1. My dad has a PNB regular savings account. Can they convert it to Elite savings account without any account number change?
they can. but they might throw tantrums & convince you to open new acc.
2. How has been the experience with Rupay Select DC? Which benefits you could extract the most?
if this is the requirement, then no need to upgrade to Elite.

Ok, in that case I'll just upgrade to rupay platinum debit card. It's currently the basic account with rupay classic card.
I think for that also account variant change would not be needed.

Some doubts -

You can take PNB Rupay Select Debit card for General account also

1 Year JF : 500 + 90 = 590
2 Year AMC : 750 + 135 = 885

Extra Point : you can get extra 2 Rupay Select add-on-debit cards for self account also if you want

it's for family members that already have relationship with PNB.

same account same cust. id. same card multiple not possible.
No need of bank account / any relationship for family members in PNB Bank

1. i said add on debit cards for self account
2. any variant of add on debit cards can be selected [ i taken RSDC ]

Today I am sending my my sister-in-law to get PNB Rupay Select Debit Card. Last two quarter my wife's AQB is more than 1Lakh, normal saving account. In January 2025 (till date) avg. balance around 40K. She took the physical form from the branch. Will be submitting the form around 2:30 pm.

Now, my questions are
1. Is it necessary for the customer herself need to be present? or a family member can submit the form on her behalf. we are available on call or email.
2. Should I need to take Select add on card or Can take any like one select and one platinum?
3. Self account for self, same name possible right? Or should I tell her to enquire first then fill name in the add on row?
4. What will be the status of previous debit card? it is normal NCMC.
5. Should I transfer some amount to make the balance 50K+ before submission of the form?

Really appreciate ur help. @Sai_Kiran
@quino & @cardio_guy u can also reply as I can see u have recently tried to get PNB RSDC. Thanks.

Yesterday, I went to the branch for my father. The account is a General Savings Fund (the basic one). They checked online and informed me that it is eligible for RPDC with the same account variant.
They also mentioned that it is eligible to upgrade the account variant to Elite Savings + RSDC (they didn't ask me to open a new account).

There is no need for the account holder to be present. They simply asked me to write a letter on plain paper with his signature and submit it.
Yesterday evening, I wrote the letter, my dad signed it, and I went to the bank to submit it for just RPDC, without upgrading the account
(because Elite requires a 50k MAB, which I may not be able to maintain always).

I didn't check about the add-on, so I'm not sure.
I believe the previous debit card will be canceled (I wanted to ask, but I forgot. I will ask next week).

If you want to upgrade to Elite Savings + RSDC, you need a 50k MAB. So it's better to transfer the amount first and then go for the upgrade. (Because when they check eligibility online, they prioritize the MAB. If it doesn't meet the requirement, they will inform you that you're not eligible for Elite + RSDC).

(Please give an upvote/mark as solution if this helps. Happy to answer any other questions).

Thanks man.
Submitted the form with two add on (Rupay Select).
The lady who took the form told that its done to my sister (in law). (I am not sure for how many cards they took the request one or three, but in the form we have mentioned 1+2 (add on). We already had one DC (Rupay NCMC), she told we can block it by calling cust care, it may not auto hotlist (not sure).

We also had general saving account. But QAB was a bit higher (1L+) till December 2024. I am not transferring fund just to safeguard that the account should not be categorized as Elite 50K wala. We don't want any balance fall related deduction. We are not going to maintain 50K+ afterwards.

No message received till now. Will update this thread if there is any.

Don't know what the branch lady did. But we were told that its done we will receive the card in the address. She asked to write the name of the card in the form 'Rupay Select'.

PNB website don't specify the requirement of Elite status of account variant. Any saving account should be fine. AQB 50K is the only criteria (at the time of application). So, ideally they should look at QAB of last quarter.

Rs. 590 debited from account. Hence it's confirmed that that branch placed request for one Rupay Select DC only.

Let it come, then will put request of two add on RSDC.

It is also confirmed that 50k running balance is not necessary. They must be checking balance of previous complete quarter.

So, ideally we can get 3 RSDC at 1000 balance, provided we have had QAB of previous quarter 50K+.

Update: Few days back received my PNB Rupay Select Debit Card. Later I myself hotlisted my previous DC.

I know I can apply two addon Rupay Select DC in the same account but I am losing my interest in this card. It's more like a headache to sell these vouchers.

I already have one LTF RSDC. This is 2nd one. I may take 2 more at 590 / 880 yearly without opening any new account. Enough for me I guess. Cheers!

Can you say more about your LTF RSDC

Do we need to return the old debit card at the branch? When I applied for RPDC, the PNB staff told me to return the old debit card after I get the new one.
I activated the new RPDC today, set PIN and took Rs 100 from ATM. But in net banking, when I try to hotlist, only the old card number is shown.
Will it take time to show both card numbers?
Yes. Wait one more day it will show up. Initially I also surprised. My curious mind activated same card twice, to find out the reason.

No need to return. You can keep or destroy. The hotlisted card will also take 2 days to go away from mobile banking.
