RBIO:Received 25k compensation from BOBCARD

I tried to apply for the Tiara Credit Card for my mother on the Bank of Baroda (BOB) website on May 15, 2025. The site glitched and I couldn’t finish the application, but a CIBIL inquiry was still posted to my PAN.

I contacted BOB’s customer service and asked them to:

1. Remove the unauthorized CIBIL inquiry.
2. Let me complete the application despite the glitch.

Instead of fixing the issue, they told me to re‑apply and send a screenshot of the error. When I pushed back, they said my “application” was declined even though no application number was ever generated.

I escalated the matter to the RBI Ombudsman in mid of August, pointing out that:

- No application was submitted, so there should be no inquiry.
- The bank’s technical error caused the inquiry.
- I requested a clear explanation and compensation.
Received mail from bobcard few days ago(ss attached below).
The mail says to remove the enquiry and provide 25000 compensation for mental harrasment.
Used AI for writing this post. Don't get much time these days.

This happened to me as well. I applied for my wife but couldn't complete the VKYC because I never received any link for it. I complained for 2 months, but every time I received the same automated message. When I complained to PNO and threatened them about RBIO, they sent an agent to complete the application, but he applied fresh. I got two CIBIL inquiries, but I didn't think of going to RBIO.

Well actually 1 unnecessary inquiry means maybe 1 successfull application and I just don't apply cards regularly for my mother(one or two times a year). So that inquiry was a big thing for me.Especially that automated reply got on my nerves. I raised the complaint and forgot about it,after 4 months out of nowhere received the mail. So yeah don't let these things go, make your complain structure good so that they don't have to Mail you back and forth.

Can you provide email ID of PNO
Actually I applied for my brother BOb card he had done vdkyc on 1 nov-2025
But still status is your vdkyc is pending
I have done many email to CRM and escalation team but no response more then one months passed
