RBIO: Received compensation of Rs. 20,000 from Axis Bank

so about 6 years ago when first opening axis bank account, i was supposed to received my welcome kit containing debit card and cheque book, which i never received. after couple of months, upon complaining to bank they issued new insta debit card deductingcharges and i was assured by branch stuff and would receive the first debit card (which i never received) charge of 350+ refund ...which i never received either even after 2-3 years. then got frasturated and closed the bank account. the last guy told this debit card charge will never be given back.

do i have any hope for this issue if i complain to RBI? 😀
Not sure about such an old case. I think I read somewhere complaint to RBIO should be within one year of the incident/last communication received from from RE on the matter.
 
Create your own thread and tag him, that way your case will be separate and people can help you out.
haha tbh no case it's just wanted to know about what to choose as entity while filling against hsbc 😆 on rbi ombudsman didnt wanna spam the thread but finally here it is xD
 
same banks everywhere. NCR. somehow one complaint went to Kanpur BO. weird.
The officer might have said, ye complaint bade officer ke kan me dalo, the clerk might have routed it to Kanpur.

Did you use a different address/Pincode? Happened with me once when I was in Mumbai. Insurance ombudsman case got transferred to Pune as I used my home address which was in Thane district instead of my office address which was in Worli.

I am sure it must be happening with others too but everyone doesn't pursue/share it. Same comment was made by someone when I posted how duracell batteries ruined my new TV remote and then so many people commented saying they have also faced similar issue with duracell in the past.

  • Uncle made a transaction of 460 on Redbus.
  • The amount was deducted, but the ticket was not booked.
  • Immediately after, HE received a call from Redbus.
  • They informed HIM that the amount would be refunded.
  • To process the refund, they requested HIS debit card number.
  • HE provided HIS debit card number AND PIN. NO OTP.
  • Realizing the potential risk, HE contacted HIS bank's branch manager.
  • He advised HIM to visit the bank with THE passbook to block the card.
  • Before HE reached the bank, the hacker withdrew money from HIS account.
  • Upon arrival, HIS card was blocked, and the account was closed.
  • Due to the delayed response, HE suffered a financial loss.

  • They informed HIM that the amount would be refunded.

  • HE provided HIS debit card number AND PIN. NO OTP.
  • Realizing the potential risk, HE contacted HIS bank's branch manager.
  • He advised HIM to visit the bank with THE passbook to block the card.
  • Before HE reached the bank, the hacker withdrew money from HIS account.
  • Upon arrival, HIS card was blocked, and the account was closed.

The call does not seem to have come from Redbus. Money was gone the moment he shared OTP. There is no fault of the bank. This is not a case for RBIO. This is a case for the police, cybercrime department.
 
Thisi s a great BO. I mean my complaints are sometimes closed because I have filed a complaint on 28th day or 29th day and not after 30 days. It was stupid as shit. Plus None of my complaints ever resulted in compnesation even if they were resolved except 1 with Yes bank where they gave me a 5k Amazon Pay voucher.

But KUDOS. We REALLY NEED MORE PEOPLE tod o nbamboos to these idiots (banks and companies)

Aaj ke jamane mein passbook leke in person branch visit karke DC block 🤣 kaunsi bank and kaunsi branch karwata hai?

Withdrawal kaise huwa purchase karke ya fund transfer karke? SMS scammer ke paas ja raha hoga...

If manager ko call kiye the recording hai and uske kuch time ke baad baaki ke paise withdraw huwe hain then bank can be held responsible as well.

Lekin wo uncle ko DC and PIN share karne se pehle BM ko call karna tha share karne ke baad nahi 😬
 
Great that RBIO helped you. In our case, they rejected my fiancee's CC application and never shared the exact reason despite asking multiple times and even after escalating to their grievance officer and all high ups. I escalated it to RBIO for compensation, not because of rejection, but for not being transparent, which is a clear violation of RBI's guidelines. The bank shared some vague (made-up) reason after that but denied compensation. RBIO also closed the ticket saying that accepting/rejecting application is bank's internal decision (which wasn't my point). S/he didn't comment on the actual point as to why the bank didn't disclose the reason. Also, s/he closed the ticket in a way that we can't appeal any further.
