Hi all,

Looks like HDFC has patched redgiraffe payment option as well in bill pay option via credit card.

Now payment email contains remarks as RENTALBBPSNO instead of HDFC BILLPAY when payment made to redgiraffe via credit credit using hdfc bill pay.

I don’t think we will get rewards points anymore on this. I will get to know in few days once amount is settled.

Does anyone else have received reward points after getting remarks as RENTALBBPSNO via hdfc bill pay ?

Thanks,
Jaideep S

Not able to see the option to pay through Wallet on Payzapp(Redgiraffe). It shows error while loading payment methods and if you try 2-3 times it asks to add a credit/debit card and just shows a message that linked payment methods are not valid
Nevermind, it worked after I posted it. After not working for 12+ hours, power of the forum 😛

IDFC app also has ability to pay Rent for RedGiraffe via IDFC credit card. Does anyone know if it gives full reward points OR any limitation on points that can be earned?
As per their website, "Rental will earn 3X rp and it will not add into 10X threshold calculation". This is effectively 0.75% return for wealth card.
Didn't find anything about charges on rental payments. Can someone who has used it please confirm.

Yes there are rent payment charges. Wealth will be net negative if used directly for rent payments

Guys, what's the best way to pay rent from CC now?
earlier I was using HDFC billpay option, but my latest transaction also said RENTALBBPSNO, thus don't think will get any rewards on my dcb metal. Does it still count to spend milestone?

@JSFinance how do you plan to pay rent now?

Afaik, it does count for milestone payments in HDFC

They charge 1% with GST exclusive.

You can check this comment, I mentioned for axis atlas and sbi vistara prime

Also along with these cards, we have below option which still gives rewards on rent payments but not worth it:

Standard chartered ultimate which give 3.3% rewards on wallet load to payzapp then pay to redgirraffe. But I don’t recommend this card as points can be redeemed at specific catalogue which is useless because bank keeps on removing the useful vouchers from its catalogue and not adding those back in next 8-10 months as per my experience.

Idfc wealth card but as someone mentioned that its just giving 0.75% rewards and levy rent fees which makes your return negative. Also someone mentioned payzapp wallet load can block your card. So no point in using it.

Someone mentioned about HSBC Premier giving 3% but its okayish card if you are existing hsbc premier customer otherwise this card is not worth it. Not recommended.
