I called up to enquire about closing my SI card...and asked if it can be made free...then came to the main point (retention benefit).... the agent said it dont have any retention benefit as it is a co-branded card, and offered to convert it to Neo/Select as free cards! :-|

Be very very careful about asking for retention benefits.
I asked for retention benefits on all my cards and they closed 2 of them

Not even the 12500 points which is given as joining rewards?? You could have transferred that to Accor and received a nice 20K INR value

samsung infinite- tried applying for card over call, customer care couldn’t do it as they were facing technical issue.. tried again offline but the agent said bank has stopped issuing this card now.. even the apply now link for this card on axis website doesn’t work (apply now link for all other card work!)

so it does look like axis has stopped issuing thi card.. can anyone else confirm or deny this?

I may think this is a temporary glitch. Recently, they removed all vistara cards from their pre-approved section. I came to know abt this when I called cc to upgrade into vistara cc. Surprisingly, they said even atlast and other premium cards is not showing, and only privilege and select cc were the available options. Usually from last year, axis used to provide me all their cards in my pre-approved list. So, I guess this is just a temporary thing

Haven't applied recently. Btw, Even samsung signature card has same issue, but it is available pre-approved in my mobile app. So, maybe temporary.

That is what I said, over call they are denying me any other card, only select/privilege for now, whereas if I check my pre-approved section, there are still many cards showing. This is temporary glitch and there is a lot of changes happening everyday. I have one slot empty as I closed my FK card to opt for vistara. Hence I have been keeping an eye on this for a while

Vistara cards are all being terminated very soon because of the merger.
Now none of the four banks will issue any more new Vistara cards.

now you can apply for Air India signature card from SBI
That is a much better option

They are saying that on call. Same for me, infact he even sent me sms for consent to upgrade, i put the otp but it didn’t go through and he said there is some technical issue.. later when i tried offline i was told card is no longer being issued since june 2024
