SBI Unipay - Transaction failed - Missed due date for HDFC CC - CIBIL Impacted

I paid HDFC CC outstanding amount via SBI Unipay. Initially it showed as if the payment was successful. But later after couple of days, the payment got failed and status changed in Unipay portal to transaction failed & I missed the due date. Later SBI has reversed the transaction and credited back the amount.

Due to this my Cerdit Score has dropped big time. It is currently 685. Is there any way that I can reach out to the bank and request for reveral of this delayed payment reporting? I hold Imperia account with HDFC and the RM and Customer care reps are consused and are not able to give a concrete answer.

I was having a plan of getting new house loan in the next few months and this Credit Score hit can have a sever impact on my housing plans and hence need to get it reversed badly. I am fine with the penality and other charges but it is the credit score that hurts me a lot. Is there anything that I can do here to get my credit score fixed across all the agencies? How can I take it up with HDFC bank / Credit agencies / SBI Unipay?

My heart goes out to you. This is disastrous. For no fault of yours this has happened. Fight it out with them bro.
We need to be extra cautious w.r.t bill payment nw. While using third party app we have to make payment at least 10 days in advance. It's a wake up call fr all of us.

It's his fault, he used loophole of free money which was supposed to be reversed...

He should have made real extra payment towards the card.

Effectively it is 9 days over due

That's concerning. Then, there is no way to fight by rules. Axis is known to remove the CIBIL for a fee. But, haven't heard that from HDFC, yet. You may try your luck. You might just need the right contact who may not be available at a particular branch. When / if you get hold of the right contact, just don't show any urgency or desperation. Also don't give away any info that you shared here. Just ask the contact to remove the CIBIL entry (for a fee, ofcourse).

Bhai, you should definitely take action here. Here's a step-by-step plan:

1. Contact SBI Unipay First:
Reach out to SBI Unipay and get a detailed statement or acknowledgment regarding the failed transaction. Ask them to provide a formal letter or email confirming their system's failure caused the issue and the timeline of reversal. This will serve as evidence.

2. File a Complaint with RBI Ombudsman:
If SBI doesnt resolves the issue, file a complaint with the RBI Ombudsman (Banking Ombudsman for HDFC and Digital Ombudsman for SBI Unipay). State the facts clearly, attaching all proof of payment, reversal, and correspondence. Request CIBIL rectification and compensation for the damage caused to your credit score.

3. Ask for CIBIL Rectification Directly:
Once the bank acknowledges the error, request them to send a corrected report to CIBIL and other credit agencies. You can also raise a CIBIL Dispute directly online with supporting documents, but banks are better positioned to fix this quickly.

4. Negotiate Penalties Separately:
Agree to pay any late fees or penalties (if applicable), as this will show goodwill on your part and may expedite the rectification process.

Don’t let them get away with this negligence. Compensation and CIBIL rectification are your rights. Push hard and follow up diligently, bro!

Ending with a quote "Justice is not just about correcting mistakes, but ensuring those mistakes don't cost the innocent their peace or future."

+1. I missed this. For registered users, Unipay already sends payment confirmation email / SMS.

When Cardholder is at fault, It is Time waste.

Such Incident should be a lesson for future instead of finding Fault in Banks not in Yourself.

SBI Credited Payment erroneously and took it Back. From Bank Point of view Cardholder did not make any Repayment at all.

The customer did make the payment on time, @VISHESH_BANSAL bhai but it was SBI Unipay's system that failed and misled him with an initial confirmation of a successful transaction. From the cardholder's perspective, the payment was done in good faith, and the fault lies entirely with SBI Unipay.

If OP has all the evidence to back this up (payment confirmation, reversal acknowledgment, etc.), there's a very strong case here. If he's ready to fight, he can surely win—especially since the issue stems from the intermediary and not the cardholder's intent or actions. Obviously, this holds as long as there are no loopholes or omissions (as some members mentioned) on the cardholder's end!"

You think so? then I should approach the RBI ombudsman as my payment was for SBI card itself and SBI unipay reversed the transaction 3 days without any notification. But wine was like a couple of months ago

@Juganta Bhai Tumhara CIBIL kaisa hai? :hehe: 🌚

How come payment was successful if amount wasn't debited? Sorry I'm not aware of any tricks or loopholes whatsoever.
That is the whole Glitch🤣

SBI Marked it successful without receiving any Payment from Cardholder. Later Reveresed it.

Cardholder thought, He paid off his Liability but for Bank it is just a credit due to a System error not a Bonafide Repayment by Cardholder
