I paid HDFC CC outstanding amount via SBI Unipay. Initially it showed as if the payment was successful. But later after couple of days, the payment got failed and status changed in Unipay portal to transaction failed & I missed the due date. Later SBI has reversed the transaction and credited back the amount.

Due to this my Cerdit Score has dropped big time. It is currently 685. Is there any way that I can reach out to the bank and request for reveral of this delayed payment reporting? I hold Imperia account with HDFC and the RM and Customer care reps are consused and are not able to give a concrete answer.

I was having a plan of getting new house loan in the next few months and this Credit Score hit can have a sever impact on my housing plans and hence need to get it reversed badly. I am fine with the penality and other charges but it is the credit score that hurts me a lot. Is there anything that I can do here to get my credit score fixed across all the agencies? How can I take it up with HDFC bank / Credit agencies / SBI Unipay?

Whenever a client comes to you, do you assume s/he is innocent ?

I am not a lawyer but these days online payments are like mangoes of a farm. People steal it when the fence is broken and when the owner catches them in act, they play victimcard.

When a client comes to me, I don’t assume innocence or guilt. Instead, I approach the situation with neutrality, focusing on understanding the facts and the client’s perspective. As a lawyer, my role is to ensure fair legal representation while maintaining my personal and professional ethics.

There’s no denying that certain areas of litigation, such as NDPS bails, high-stakes criminal cases, or defending individuals accused of serious offenses, can be financially rewarding. However, such cases often raise ethical concerns. Clients tend to disclose everything honestly, and there have been instances where their attitudes or actions deeply conflicted with my values. This realization played a significant role in my decision not to actively pursue a practice focused on such cases.

One particular case left a lasting impact on me. Due to my strong background in criminal law, I was approached to argue for a reduced sentence for a man convicted of a heinous crime involving a minor. The financial incentive was considerable, and a friend convinced me to take up the case, arguing that the accused had admitted guilt and was ready to face justice. However, when I met the individual, his lack of remorse and attempts to justify his actions in a deeply disturbing manner shocked me.

This interaction solidified my decision to prioritize integrity over monetary gain. I chose to meet the victim’s family and fought for justice on their behalf, ensuring that the punishment wasn’t reduced and that the seriousness of the offense was appropriately addressed.

As a Vipassana meditator, I’m guided by the teachings of Shri S.N. Goenka and Shri Premanand Ji, who emphasize the importance of standing against injustice. Whenever I was approached with cases that conflicted with my moral beliefs, I respectfully declined and redirected them to colleagues who prioritized financial gain over ethical considerations. For me, being a part of injustice is not an option, no matter the financial reward.

wow... great Good to hear someone having values in their profession. My earlier post was just a joke , not really meant personal.

PS: if someone asks you what is the reward that you got for being honest ? tell them the God, the best judge above, gave a life sentence with an understanding wife.

Yes, it happens and let me clear you why it is so. This is a bug with SMS server of SBI Unipay.

I always enter my email and it instantly or in some cases 30 mins later sends email with successful thing but with SMS if it delays due to technical reasons sends SMS that your txn has failed. It occurs due to timeout. Whenever transaction happens, SMS server is designed to send SMS in max. 3 mins after transaction. If there is delay more than that it assumes txn has not gone through and send failure SMS. This is issue of entry reconcilation at SMS server. Being worked for tech firms I know how things go around. This all happens because of server delays between debiting bank, receiving bank and payment processor. At end of every hour it reconciles and settles down everything.

So rely on email rather than what SMS says. Most of time I don't even get SMS confirmation but email always comes.

I too in past received failure SMS but waited if txn gets reversed and it didn't.

Well, I was not talking about the SMS at all !

The UniPay lists all transactions with corresponding links to download the receipts. First I downloaded the 'Successful' receipts. Then after a while 3 out of 4 showed 'Failed', and I downloaded them again, thus ended up having both 'Successful' and 'Failed' receipts for the same transactions! Some bug!

Thankfully, it turned out that all payments were actually successful.

Okay, got it. It will again change to success after few days. Happened with me.

But only those turns failed whose SMS tells these are failed. Else all my txns remains success and never change status.

We only need to check Available Limit of card to actually know if a txn is failed or not. If it reduces next day then just pay again within 2 days.
