[Solved] Urgent: Axis Magnus fraud transaction of 1L+

I was browsing Apple store US to check prices of macbooks if ordered through US. I reached to the final page and without OTP, my amount go deducted. I received a call instantly and marked transaction as dispute. I also called customer care and they said that they'll temporarily credit it with same amount but I'll not be able to use it. After 90 days the issue will get resolved, if they found it was done by me then they'll take that money back. Although I marked it as dispute. I told them that transaction was fraud but it was actually done by me accidentally.

I just put some random fake US address in apple store website, I don't know where will they even ship it. I tried cancelling my order but since it was guest checkin, I can't seem to cancel it from anywhere.

What should be my next steps here, I'm really worried.


Update on the issue

I just received my refund from Apple. Although there were Forex charges (2% + GST). And the same were applied on refund as well
So my total loss was around 5k + some 500Rs top up balance required for international calling

I've been active on this community for so many months and considered myself a credit card expert, but I didn't have the slightest of idea as to how these international transactions happen. Anyway, I get it now and the loss I've incurred might be a lesson to not repeat this in future. If someone knows whether it's possible to get back the Forex charges as well, that'd be great. Although I've tried calling customer care and they're refusing to do so.

And again, to all those who've their international transaction enabled. PLEASE DISABLE IT RIGHT NOW

Second Update

The Forex fees has also been reversed upon reaching out to priority support from Axis bank. I wasn’t expecting this, great service from Axis bank!

Axis Bank ko Kaha ki Mujhse Galti se Ho gaya matlab ab bank bhi tempo credit revoke karengi after investigation and call rcecordings & Apple wale ne ship kar diya aur kisi ne le liya to bhure fasenge aap... bcoz mostly they deliver products within a day or 2
 
Its surprising thing how cum you have kept international txn enabled on your card, i do only whenever needed. Second thing is that, why in the world someone enter his actual card details entering all the fakes and thats too checking the guest? its all your fault.... you will get the amount eventually, but its shows how casual are you regarding your high limit cards.....
I agree, shouldn't have done that. But I honestly didn't know that I'll not receive any OTP. If I had slightest of idea then I'd haver never proceeded further. Anyway, hopefully I'll get the amount and learned a huge lesson from this mistake 😞

Most international transactions to through without OTP. I don't remember even one instance where I have entered OTP for international transactions.

I know I've done a huge mistake but please don't get so cocky about it

I've contacted apple support by since they were available in evening (morning in US), by that time the order was already shipped. So they had to file a return request instead of cancellation. The address is a dummy one and product should not get delivered anywhere, in which case it should be marked as lost and refunded back.

Will have to wait for some days for the refund request to get accepted. Anyway, Thanks for your help!

The address is a dummy one and product should not get delivered anywhere, in which case it should be marked as lost and refunded back.

I once ordered from Amazon US and later cancelled it. You can call US toll free numbers from skype free of cost. Bank will charge you forex markup twice plus convenience fee and gst for refund also.

This happened because you have kept international transactions on so next time when it final to use them only use. It saves you from other types of fraud. Most of the fraud are international transactions
 
Just confirming. All my current points and upcoming bonus points will still be there right? Even if Axis decides to permanently block this card and give me a new one?

All your points etc will be moved to the new card in case you get a new card.

Once you get the money from apple don't forget to call axis and close the dispute..

Try emailing Axis Bank PNO, and mention all your relationship with the bank like the age of accounts (joint, salary, family, current), credit cards, loans, past relationships, Credit score, etc. They will take your request in for consideration. Also if they dont budge, mention that they cannot take fees for a transaction that has been canceled. In second or third mail, just mention you will cancel the card, and say this is such an inconvenience. In the end if nothing works, we have RBI Ombudsman where you can also ask for compensation for extra expenses you had to incurr.

I had ordered drone from DJI website but had to cancel the order due to some reason. I have received the refund but I see forex charges on the refund amount as well as the original transaction. Please share how do I get back the forex charges reversed from Axis.

They'll deduct it twice plus gst
