Tap & Pay for rupay cards via apps

I am not sure if anyone tried but I tried to link my rupay cards under cred, paytm & gpay for tap & pay feature but nothing works. Showing error as this card variant is not eligible for tap & pay feature.

Note:

• VISA working fine for me. Seeing issue only with rupay cards (checked with 3 different rupay cards from 3 different banks).
• My cards have NFC & over POS machine, able to make payment without pin.
• Ofcourse my mobile has NFC too --> that's why doing payment via mobile tap & pay from long long back.

Rupay Card are made for QR code scanning. Tap and pay works fine in Visa and Master, not in rupay

RuPay NFC HCE feature is coming soon, not live yet.

3 years ago, RuPay already tested RuPay NFC HCE feature with ApplePay, GPay and JioPay.

I think RuPay is also integrating NCMC feature with NFC HCE, that's why it is taking more time.

Rupay Card are made for QR code scanning. Tap and pay works fine in Visa and Master, not in rupay

QR code scanning is extra added feature. There is no relation with tap & pay.

Tap & pay already working with NFC over POS machines for rupay variants. Issue only with mobile made NFC systems (somehow rupay cards not yet enabled for mobile NFC)

3 years ago, RuPay already tested RuPay NFC HCE feature with ApplePay, GPay and JioPay.

I heard from other sources that only JCB ones are not linking. I will check if I have any non JCB card & try to link.

All cards are RuPay cards in India. There is no JCB or Discover in India for domestic payment. 🤣🤣

Its depend on banks but yes i read one tweet that HDFC RuPay Discover variant is working on Paytm and Yes bank RuPay JCB is not working

personally i can't verify yet but NPCI will officially announced once RuPay NFC HCE feature will live.

What I am saying is banks tied with JCB ones are not working. I tried with BOB one & didn't work.

I understand what you are saying but there is no link with JCB or Discover for RuPay NFC HCE payment.

If any bank is interested in launching RuPay NFC HCE payments then they will launch. There is no link whether the bank has issued JCB variant RuPay or Discover variant RuPay

I think HDFC is big bank, there is high possibility that banks like HDFC, ICICI will be the first to launch RuPay NFC HCE payment.

Anyway, there is no official news yet for RuPay NFC HCE payment. However, few months ago RuPay replied they will soon launch this feature.
