Unable to upgrade to Sapphiro

Curently I am holding 3 CC from ICICI (Apay/ Coral Visa and Coral Rupay), all being LTF and limit upwards of 10L. Recently I reached out to some ICICI folks who were at our office campus for upgrade offers, they told me that I am eligible for Sapphiro and I applied for it as well. I asked them to upgrade my existing Coral Visa to Sapphiro, as the current Coral Card has hardly any offers with it. However, they rejected my upgrade after validating the documents stating that I cannot hold more than 2 CC from ICICI at any point of time. Is that so?

- Rubyx Dual
- Sapphiro Dual
- Coral RuPay

And my Emeralde Application is in Process.

*update - I got an update, as my ICICI Rupay was approved and issued in November itself, they rejected my Sapphiro Application as they cannot issue 2 card within such short timelines. Not sure if this is true though.

True for every bank. No bank issues back-2-back Core cards. Take back-2-back Co-branded, no problem.
