Yes Bank Reserv + 3X Subscription Plan

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a new card to complement my Infinia. The main goal is to increase the rewards rate for a few lakhs of donations towards NGOs (both Indian and International). BOGO on movies, and rewards on rental and UPI transactions will be great to have but not necessary.

I recently came across the YES Reserv card, along with the 3X subscription offer for all spends. The following is how I see the reward rates:
  • 9% Points on Online Shopping (except on Select categories)**
  • 4.5% Points on Offline Shopping (except on Select categories)
  • 2.25% Points on Select categories
Assuming 25 paise per RP redemption rate, for flights and hotels.

The 9% rewards rate seems just too good to be true. Can anyone confirm? If it is indeed true, then why is this not the most talked about card for Forex transactions?

P.S: I don't mind paying the annual fee given the rewards.

Could be anything. You will have to try and see. But now a days I am finding it difficult to even do that, as points are not matching whatever calculations I do literally every month.

To be safe, don't do utility mcc transaction. There is 1% extra convinience fee also now on that for spends over 15/20k.
Last year when this plan was launched first, i had taken it for first exclusive card. I tried tracking spends and pts awarded for 3-4 months. Wasn't very close to what i was calculating. that time cost of plan was lower. I decided then i wont be spending time on the plan unless this is well sorted. however it appears the pts credit is still whimsical with no way for us to ascertain if everything is kosher.

It turns out yes bank has silently modified the list of MCC exclusions for 3x subscription bonus. Most of my transactions were on STAN for Flipkart vouchers with 5816 MCC, which is now excluded.

Huge loss for me now. Anyone has old screenshot of MCC exclusions for subscription plan? Will need to fight with RBI Ombudsman.

@helloworld

in this case you'll have to goto RBI ombudsman. The problem however is when u activate this plan with Yes, they never send an email that tells whats included and whats not. So to go through this pain is not sure if fully worth. I'm sure they have added this MCC only because they must have spotted usages with this. But to do this surreptitiously speaks volumes of the kind of institution this is.

Currently, I have a Yes Bank Elite+ credit card. While asking for a priority pass to access international lounges, customer care said that the current Yes Bank card swipe will do.

I have never heard of it and have always used priority pass card in international lounges. Any experience with anybody?

Yes , normally directly swiping the credit cards in the lounge, would get you the lounge access . I have done it multiple times .
