Not mentioned anything like that fees will be charged after card closure also
This is implicit unless stated otherwise for annual fee charged for past usage & this is why many credit cards charge their annual fee in advance. It all comes down to whether the annual fee being charged is for past period or future period. If for past period then closing the card in advance does not waive off the past period usage charge, at best one can claim "proportionate annual fee" for period used but accepting or rejecting it is completely up to the bank.

See annual fee is charged after completion of 1 year and joining fees is charged immediately.

And same also for axis credit cards if you taken card on 1 April 2024 then joing fees will be levied in April month 2024 whereas annual fees is to be charged on 1 April 2025. But, if you close card before 1 April you don't have to pay annual fees. I had read many times on this forum and all banks work on this principle only. At least hdfc sbi axis

The definition of joining & annual/renewal fee is designed to be messy, sbi card for example practically consider joining fee as "advance annual fee" for first year & then the fee you pay at the end of 1st year is "advance annual/renewal fee" for the 2nd year. This is nothing but to give an "illusion" that you are not paying annual fee in advance. That is why a bank is all too happy to close a card without asking for any fee because you already paid the fee in advance.

Here is an interesting example for this unless you or someone here knows it to be wrong as I never held any FYF card.

Say you get sbi simplyclick card first year free on 1st Apr 2024 then it means no joining fee in May 2024 but on 1st Apr 2025 you will still be charged an annual fee which will be reversed in May 2025 if your total spend crossed 1 lakh in period 1st Apr 2024-31st Mar 2025. If the annual fee levied on 1st Apr 2025 was for previous period then it conflicts with first year free condition but if assumed to be advance payment for 1st Apr 2025-1st Apr 2026 it makes complete sense because no conflict with FYF condition while the FYF period spend make this advance annual fee reversed too.
