I just received an add-on Infinia today but the Priority Pass that came with it had a sticker that said:

"Your Priority Pass must be used outside India only. Swiping it within India will attract charges as per the schedule of charges. For lounge visits within India, use your Regalia credit card..."

Does this mean the benefit of domestic use on Add-on Infinia cards is no longer valid or is this some error (possibly a Regalia Priority Pass sticker pasted accidentally)?

I’m surprised to see this. The 2nd one might have been an error, but to have been charged for the 4th one [Add-on PP, for HDFC Infinia] is clearly in violation of the stated T&C. Did you complain??

Also, with PP, it is only a “Record of Visit” [ROV] that is imprinted on the slip [and not the cost], as may be seen in the attachment enclosed. I woudl be curious to know, was the charged billed even when the ROV displayed “0 guests”?
My April statement reads as follows :
03/04/2024 PPLoungeFee 16022024 Nagpur 0+1 (Ref# ST240950082000010509760) 2,286.63

To be honest, I’ve never used my/our PPs with any additional Guest, and have therefore not been billed for any Guest usage as of yet.

However, the “0+1” that you mention in your bill is perhaps indicative of the charges not being billed for the actual holder of the PP, but for the “+1” person accompanying the PP holder.

They mostly used wrong sticker.... Infinia PP can be used everywhere

mail infinia support and get it confirmed by sending this photo, cc last 4 digits and PP last 4 digits

My experience of swiping at Nagpur Airport in April 2024
1. Primary Infinia Card - Rs. 2
2. Add-on Infinia Card - Rs. 2
3. Primary Priority Pass - Rs. 0
4. Add-on Priority Pass - Rs. 2693.22 (including GST)
Can you provide info on how many people accessed lounge on that date ?

Oh ! I am extremely sorry. I couldnt recollect.
Actually, Infinia Card was not accepted here. So I had used only PP & SBI.
So, it was like this,
1 Primary PP swipe for Myself, 1 another same PP swipe for my wife, 1 Add-on PP swipe for my FIL, 1 another same Add-on PP swipe for my MIL & SBI for my daughter.
It was 2 swipes of Primary PP and 2 swipes of Add-on PP.
Extremely sorry again.
So, 0 swipes of Infinia.

And 4 swipes of two PPs, which must clearly mean at least 2 Guest entries have been recorded.

If this is the case, then clearly the charges were correct. The “0+1” – as was in your bill – should actually have been “0+2” then.

Even the PP number of all cards (primary+addon) is same so, you should have been billed twice in this scenario

I assume what happened was that your primary PP was scanned twice.... but while scanning Add-on, the receptionist added 1 guest which was charged on your account (so he swiped only once)

if they would have swiped the add-on card twice (just like they did for primary PP), you would have been fine

Have visited numerous domestic lounges with add-on PP and have never been charged (until now). We do not swipe Add-on Infinia CCs (even if they work just fine) only because the T&C says unlimited access via CC only for Primary card holder while unlimited dom+intl for add-ons via PP.

Correct, yes. I agree.

Ouch. Sometimes I feel swiping infinia is safer as 2₹ shown upfront. Pp doesn't show anything.
Got to agree here, yes.

However,
1. For an Add-on cardholder, It is always safer to present the Add-on PP, than the Add-on card itself.
2. In several cities (Metros, mostly), the PP provides free access to a better lounge, while an Infinia will give you free access to a more general lounge.

How safer? Lounge operators might put ourselves as guest and we would not realise. In Mumbai T1 lounge, they didn't even give me record of visit. Only gave back pp and stamped the boarding pass. I asked if any charges? And they said we don't know. We can't see that.

At least infinia shows actual cost or 2₹ while putting in pin.

Point 2 I agree with.

“And they said we don't know. We can't see that.”

They genuinely can’t. They can only see the number of heads that are entering a Lounge with a given PP, that’s all. The charges can – and actually do – vary, depending on which bank has issued a given PP, the number of times that a particular PP allows complimentary access, whether or not the person in question has (or has not) gone beyond that threshold, etc etc.

My experience is that a Record of Visit (ROV) is not usually handed back by Lounges, but a customer is well within his right to ask for a ROV, and a Lounge is obligated to give a ROV, particularly when one is clearly sought by the customer. I feel it’s a bit like a Cash-Memo. It cannot be denied, especially when clearly sought.

Having a ROV is pertinent to ensure that a PP holder is swiped an “actual cardholder”, and not a Guest. The ROV would clearly mention “0 Guests” (unless a Guest had actually been present).

This is also what the bank recommends, btw. See attachment enclosed.
