Clarification on RuPay NCMC

You can use Chalo app from the Playstore to check and update your NCMC balance using NFC-enabled smartphone. I tried this with my RBL credit card.

are you sure it's chalo, i just downloaded the app and there is no card option whatsover.

 

I'm in CHENNAI and i am not aware of Airtel NCMC.
Who is that Airtel guy? Do they have a separate ticket counter?

Yeah there is always a guy from airtel in all metro station who gives/sells new airtel ncmc cards and quickly updates balance using his portable pos machine. so delhi metro can afford a guy in every metro but not a terminal......moreover they can easily update balance for other ncmc cards but have been strictly advised not to

Yes, it has integrated CCAvenue Tap & Pay features. Metro/Google Pay/Samsung Wallet app jo kaam karna chahiye tha wo ye startup kar raha hai ✌️

Maja toh tab aayega jab Rupay linked/ tokenised hona suru ho jayega, hope tab physical card ka need nahi rahega even for transit purpose.

 

Ok so Airtel Metro card is fully online? Like, I can load it online and straight away tap at the terminal to pay without having to do anything offline with machines? Is this also true for Ahmedabad metro?

no you will have to but with airtel..they have their own guy at metro selling cards who can easily update balance using his machine....i hope u get the scam

There's bro, firstly choose the city like Mumbai. Then click on Chalo Card displayed in between the screen after then the available settings will be shown.

This app needs precise location permission & developer settings should be turned off.

oh. Well that sucks. I'd rather just use the ticket vending machine then. Most of the time it is empty anyway.

iOS users are getting shafted the most at metros. We can't use the nfc thing to update NCMC balances and certain Metro systems allow you to purchase tickets via the app and scan it at the gate on Android, but even that feature is not present for iPhone users.

Canara ka Millennial DC pe even Debit+Pre-paid likha hai, integration nahi kiya hai uska toh kuch kiye nahi...

BOB EMT RuPay NCMC Card ka tha na woh ?

I found a video on YouTube, probably about the Delhi Metro.

This guy's BOB RuPay Select NCMC Card also wasn't working, but suddenly it started working on an NCMC machine for balance updates.

So, I have a doubt whether the BOB EMT RuPay Card might face a similar issue, or if there's a problem with the Delhi Metro's NCMC balance update machines.

Here you go, now being commander, report the same, millennail is not integrated.

Yeah I saw the option I am ordering Junio NCMC card (dont want to risk loosing a debit card in metro and its one time fee, feel free to suggest any other easily available NCMC card I can order online).

Yes it's risky, I agree. That's why don't recommend, it may become less risky and convenient, when Rupay Network Cards will be allowed to be added/tokenised on TPAPs like G-Pay/ S-Wallet.

Easily available card & better card in my view is SBI one, there are two, min kyc (Issuance and Annual fees zero, valid for 2 years, available at many metro stations on Delhi like Chandni Chowk (gate 5) Central Secretariat and many others, even on some specified SBI's branch) and full KYC (if you can, even cash withdrawal is allowed). Search it.

Doesn't matter just choose Mumbai to see the card option and thereafter just check/update/activate as required. It doesn't matter which NCMC card you have, at least in my testing so far.
