American Express Platinum Reserve application

Hey everyone, new to the technofino forum as a member although I've been scouting through as a guest for a year or so now. Great to be here, and hoping to learn more!

I currently hold a HDFC Millennia card and it's been active for about 2 years. Even after some significant spending over the past couple of years, HDFC hasn't offered any upgrades or limit increases except for a very measly 15% increase last week. I sent them a mail regarding this and even threatening to close down my account- I don't feel like it's offering enough rewards for my spending. ( I thought of going for the ICICI amazon pay card instead which I am pre approved for ). They still are not offering anything. Due to this reason, I wanted to upgrade to an American Express card, and after much debate, I went for the platinum reserve card. - it showed credit approved, and eKYC etc was done. I also uploaded some documents which were asked for but im not sure if all of it is meeting the criteria- they keep resending the upload document mails. (I recently started working for a startup, documents in the clear cut way they're asking for is not available although I am crossing their income requirements.) It would be great if someone here from American Express, I believe it is @BestBanker ? Could help me out regarding this. Thank you so much.

Avoid Plat Reserve and go for the best AmEx Trifecta (2 credit cards + 1 charge card):
1. AMEX Membership Rewards Credit Card
2. AMEX Platinum Travel Credit Card
3. AMEX Gold Charge Card

More details here:

Once you get your first AmEx then getting the other 2 cards won't be an issue. If you apply within 90days of getting first card then AmEx won't even ask for Video Kyc again. I got my 3 AmEx cards in 40days.

Accoring to the community, Platinum Reserve is an Amex card to avoid applying for. If someone knows more about Amex, they can share their insights.
Interesting, I'll certainly look into it. The primary reason I chose the reserve is due to its similar concierge, golfing and Priority pass privileges to its bigger brother Platinum card at a much more reasonable cost. I am not too concerned about points or rewards here, the bare minimum will suffice. I am planning to continue holding the millennia and probably add an amazon pay card as well for my usual spending.

Great take, I'll think about this and re evaluate my decision. Personally not a wise choice to immediately go for 3 credit cards right now I feel. However the benefits the trifecta offers definitely makes sense.

you didnt give one reason to avoid reserve
Plat reserve 3x rewards from Gyftr vouchers vs 5X rewards from Gold charge. <-- Shared 1 reason already. Lemme find more.

The thing is I did a vast research before going for Plat Travel, MRCC and Gold charge. So, at that time I saw in multiple threads to avoid Plat Reserve.
Plat Reserve is targeted more towards lifestyle rewards instead of savings/cashback/Rewards points.

Plat Travel will always dominate Plat Reserve for 4L annual spends.

Anywhere between 5 to 10L
In above posts you mentioned that you are looking for 1x AmEx card. Plat travel alone can only give good benefits till 4L. Above 4L, you will need to use another card.
Since this thread was started to discuss an issue with AmEx Application, I will suggest to start a new thread for this query, in which you can ask for suggestions for credit card for annual spends of 5L-10L. So that the thread title can target the right people/CC experts to help you.

HDFC can be mean when it comes to Limit Enhancement or card upgrade. Even, I am stuck at Regalia and they gave me 15% increase in limit too few months ago. I have 2 cards at 6L and 1 at 5L but still can't get HDFC to give me 4L+ limit.
Future goal is to get the amazing Infinia. If they don't give me Infinia soon then I might even go for DCB or I will just ignore HDFC and concentrate on AmEx trifecta or any new upcoming card (Got Magnus but it is dead now for mid spenders).

Just wanted to confirm this 90 days rule?? Does that really work??

Yes, it is tested by many people here. I got my 3 cards in 40 days. Vkyc on day 1, no vkyc on day 33 and day 40. You will still get link to do vkyc. But, once you click on it, it will show Vkyc completed and next day you will receive email stating that your card is approved.

One more condition: The form must show that you are pre-approved/conditionally pre-approved when applying for 2nd card and 3rd card.

Recently Amex removed the access to Centurion lounges in Delhi and Mumbai for the Platinum reserve card holders. There are no Complimentary Priority pass visits on the reserve card. It's only useful for the golf benefits now, they give 2 complimentary golf games per month ( previously it used to be 4 per month). For the benefits they are giving,I believe the fee of 10,000 is not worth in my opinion.
