Amex Sending Platinum Charge Upgrade offer for JAN 2025 - 150000 MR Points

The link in the email didn’t work for me (link broken error). Called customer care - got custom new link over a separate email (subject: based on our communication today) with assurances that this new link will work as an upgrade with the said offer of 150k MR points or hotel vouchers and that I will have to call customer care once card is approved for choosing option.
Today card is approved. Called CC and they told me the card that is approved is new card not an upgrade so I am not eligible.
Any update on this?

They refused to honour the points. Said it’s a standard application but “we acknowledge it’s our mistake and our CC gave you the wrong link and it wrongly said “Amex plat charge upgrade link” but we will not do anything as the vouchers more than compensate for the fees”. I said this amounts to misspelling and cheating. They said “May be! You can go to ombudsman and see what they have to say. We can’t help you”

A highly fake accented “senior supervisor” eventually hung up saying above. It was an extremely unpleasant 45 mins conversation.

Completely unethical and unacceptable to say the least. What are you planning to do with it now.. taking the matter to the ombudsman or getting rid of the card altogether?

Today an amex executive called regarding the upgrade offer and left a voicemail as I was unavailable. She also sent me an email with details of the upgrade and links to both joining benefits. I have not yet applied for the upgrade though.

Left a very sour taste in my mouth about the whole thing. Seems like I was set up to get rid of pending vouchers.

I even cancelled the application over email as I was in doubt over what they were up to. They approved the card 10 mins after I sent the email. It stinks of a set up.

I don’t want to pursue this any more. Will use my other Amex to justify the annual cost already paid. This has kind of shown me what kind of an organisation they are - the senior who spoke was extremely rude. Made me feel as if he was doing me a favour by just talking to me. Said things like “for your case I had to invest all my manager’s time to see what can be done”. It was their mistake after all.
 
If I close my current Amex Plat Charge, is it possible for me to get targeted with a welcome offer again the next time?

Have MRCC, Plat Travel and Gold Charge as well.

Yes there are chances, I didn’t activate my platinum charge card when I received it. I still keep getting upgrade offers from my Platinum Travel card, including this one.

This is very serious indeed. I didn't imagine Amex guys would stoop to such low levels to justify their scam.
Back in 2018 a Citi employee tried to be smart and make fun of me while still on line. Luckily I had call recording on and mailed the same to 2-3 levels.
After few apology calls, a manager visited to my office with the same executive requesting to let go of the issue so that she could save her job. I asked for a handwritten apology letter, forgave her and continued to bank with Citi but made sure they could never take me for granted.
BTW, today I got my HDFC virtual RM's mobile no. blacklisted for DND violation. Can't stop laughing 🤣🤣

anyone knows what does second card represents?
Account card is just another card for a specific use case or to sort out spendings (personal and business). Anyone can request for one from the amex online portal and no extra account is reported in CIBIL. If you wish to close, you can. If you wish to keep, no issues.

You must’ve filled some additional card required for business spends. You can keep it and use it or close by calling Amex CC.

The funny part is they were so keen on sending me the card before I could cancel the application (which I eventually did and they said sorry can’t do that) is they didn’t even register a hit on Cibil and I already have the Gold charge.
