Wealth Management and Wealth Select Debit Cards are issued as LTF. Don't call the usual customer care. Call on the dedicated wealth management number and ask them for an upgrade.

what are the disadvantages of closing current ICICI account and opening one again?

1. Changing of account in SI mandates
2. No longer an old customer but a new one
3. Change in user id
4. Mess of old statements

Anyone would like to add on?

Can you not open a new account with the same info without closing the old one?
Later the old one will also get merged and start getting the new account benefits.

I was finally able to get my ICICI account upgraded to Wealth Select. The Customer Care still says it is Wealth and not Wealth Select / GPC, but yesterday got the Visa Infinite Debit Card.

PS: The account was always to be Wealth Select, was NTB with IP of 5L (Mar offer) but agent goofed up initially

Almost alll benefits are same.
In visa infinite you will get 4 lounge access per quarter; while in Wealth DC it's 2 per quarter
