Au bank VKYC weird experience

Normally vkyc I got accustomed was: ask dob mail etc for verification & then show pan & aadhar then sign that’s it.
Au bank:
1.no matter what I’m not allowed to show Aadhar,
2.multiple times she keeps on repeating same questions even though i answered at the very 1st time, still she keep on asking same questions & i’ve to answer the same again & again
3.i’ve to explain clearly for What purpose I’m opening this account, i’ve to explain crystal clearly
4. She asked do i have any other bank accounts then i’ve to explain about them
5. She asked, me to show my house around for some reason
6. Biggest shocker: she questioned why I’m using iCloud mail instead of gmail. So i’ve to explain why I’m using iCloud mail to her instead of gmail, what the hell man.
7. She asked me where I’m working my salary my designation & also nature of work & my company field of work(it’s just savings account man)
8. Idk why but for some reason she keep on repeating don’t use this account for other reasons


9. She enquired whether i read terms & conditions of bank, how i got to know about Au bank
10. At last she shared a mail & asked me to give feedback about our interaction. I’ll definitely give once my account is opened


Believe it or not at no point its seemed like a account opening call, it seemed like i was being questioned for my life choices it’s seems more like a grilling

Believe me not even one thing i said is being exaggerated , really happened, she even asked me, whether i married or not, as per rbi guidelines they’ve to keep record of every video kyc, if there’s an option to get it out, you people can see. I clearly remember explaining: if i ate breakfast at a restaurant i use your account to pay the bill via upi etc etc when she’s not convinced when i first said:i’ll i use for day to day activities.

Anyway i got account, now I’ll fight back I already dm them in twitter(X), I won’t leave this, most disturbing thing for me is explaining why I’m using iCloud & how will i use this account. Will see
 
My application for their CC was rejected twice , on office verification even without visiting the office!!

I can only imagine why they are doing this…like below:

As they are very small bank and they want to sustain for longer period in the business and hence can’t afford even a small failure in any type of relationship.. they want to take very cautious approach in everything they do and be conservative… this is their way of doing business irrespective of its consequences..
I don’t find any fault with them.. it’s their philosophy, if we like it we will continue our journey with them if not it’s up to us..
At least they have demonstrated their consistency in their approach…

I went through 3 VKYCs and had similar questions except for showing around the house.

1st attempt: They didn't support Firefox for some reason. Had to install a Samsung browser that too didn't work then had to install Chrome beta...
2nd attempt: Agent didn't know/want protonmail as email. Changed to Gmail just for KYC then back to proton after the account was opened.
3rd attempt: Finally reached PAN card snapshot stage, but it was opening my telephoto camera instead of the main camera, and everything near was getting blurry. The agent was kind enough to adjust with a snapshot from the front camera and done with the process.

Well, they rejected my vkyc for savings account, & asked me to visit branch.. 🙂😂

So VKYG ( not a typo. it stands for Video Know Your Groom) matrimonial didn’t work in your case..
Or may be they want your physical presence as they love to see you physically.. it seems you attracted them very much.. Had the alliance been fixed now?? 😉

Yeah, i understand that. But who rejected someone for savings account vkyc.

They are the biggest SFB, and after the fincare merger, they might become full commercial bank..

2. Bank will physically validate address (which has never happened before for savings account or cc till now)
I feel RBI has some new guidelines and banks are trying to be strict without having clarity.
Anyone tried opening savings acct very recently can share their experience.
 
Also what is with 16 digit long account number 10-12 digits is more than enough

what’s the purpose of v kyc if they physically verify the address, then vkyc will be the most useless thing

Another reason to choose offline KYC than online one.
 
i am guessing they are having some kind of incentive or trophy to detect fraud on account opening. i felt kind of similar grilling, but not this much it was less grilling. because all the time it felt more like an investigation rather than customer onboarding. the same dont show aadhaar, why u create account etc. i dint have the show ur house, but at that time the the location obtained from gps showed my house with a different address in google maps and and i have to convince that dumbo that google maps is not government registry.

I want to Apply Au Bank CC, can you please tell me the procedure, will they ask 3 months banks statements or just mentioning office address is enough like axis, will they actually visit office like hdfc or sbi, is there any possibility for C2C, please answer

If you want to apply c2c, apply via swipe up. If you have good cibil, it will be approved. Yes they might do office verification. Less chances that they will request income proof.

No need of income docs.. they will provide you the card by your CIBIL score and other Cards in CIBIL..
but home and office verification MUST.. You should make sure when the agent comes, it is better you are present at both places..
Then all will be okay .. they will call you before hand when they visit these places ..
