Axis Bank sending notice for clarification regarding customer's travel spends on atlas

Axis Bank today sent notices to many of its Atlas credit card customers requesting clarification and invoices regarding their "travel category spends". Axis Atlas is a travel-focused credit card, so it's surprising that the bank is asking for invoices and clarification for travel category expenses over the past few months. A few days ago, Axis Bank deducted Edge Miles and Edge Reward Points from some customers' reward accounts, citing business transactions. Now, they are requesting clarification on affected customers' travel spends within the next 30 days, otherwise, the bank will cancel their credit cards.

Here, I'm attaching a copy of the notice email:

Many genuine Atlas customers have been affected by this move. Some people just spent under 10k on travel categories and received clarification notices. I can understand Axis's desire to eliminate abusers from their customer list, but troubling genuine customers is unacceptable. This is the main reason I didn't add the Axis Magnus Burgundy credit card/Axis Magnus credit card to our list of the best credit cards for 2024. While it may offer good rewards, it's not reliable at all. Axis should revert to their old credit card reward system as they are not capable of running a reward system with airmiles transfer partners.
For peace of mind, stay away from Axis Bank credit cards.

How much were your spends ?
This is really a serious concern. Lets' say someone genuinely plans family trips frequently, he is tagged as non-personal use.

See the timing, in a month summer vacation starts and axis really screwing the vacation plans of many.
I got to Platinum tier by January, so spends were above 15 lakhs. All the transactions were genuine personal spends. Had a family trip to Maldives in Dec so had high spends in Nov-Dec.

They’ve asked for 5 working days to verify the invoices/evidences.

Previously, during Magnus fiasco. I heard that users gained access to the ER portal within 7-10 days of submitting their invoices/evidence.

The timing is definitely a BAD one. I personally know a lot of guys who were planning for trips in May-June.

Please don't say that. He may fill up with guilt later.
Its logical reasoning question from AXIS..

CHoose the right answer??

1) September 2023 - Magnus
2)March 2024 - Atlas
3) ? - ??
.
.
Answer: Spetember 2024 - Axis Vistara / or something else?? 😉 😉

alavokaga aa renditini moosestundi. Deenilo Aloak ni laagakandi.

So, its logical that it will strike both and @ALOAK has nothing to do with it.

I understand. I always knew this because my friends were working for axisbank they themselves say management has bonkers Even they dont know which idiot decides to these type of hiccups

Axis has gone little too far this time, blocking accounts for people even for small value transactions. But my sense is that they will unblock also, once invoices are shared. I got the card last month so no action for me yet.

But two learnings - 1) keep transferring the points and 2) keep all Axis card invoices preserved somewhere.

And yes third learning - close the card if all this is too dramatic for you

For a customer, all the above are such a put off... after all.. Customer is KING in any field...

These days even in govt. departments you don't need to submit travel bills for petty amounts.
BUT with axis we have to pull Drishyam scenes every day and save bills.
