Axis bank upgrade of cards through customer care is stopped

Most of you know that if we use an axis bank credit card for 3 or more months , we can upgrade to other card by calling through customer care.

Meanwhile , I am trying to upgrade one of my axis bank credit card through customer care from Tuesday (2/8/22) and they were keep on informing that due to some technical issue we can't upgrade the card.

Today I called the customer care , they said RBI has asked axis bank to stop taking requests from phone banking and if we require any new cards we have to apply through branch or net banking or mobile app.

@TechnoFino @anirbanm Can you please confirm the same by asking your resources and inform us.

Is there any way to apply for a 2nd axis card without hitting the cibil enquiry ?

Chat agent says that I should apply online , but there will be a hard cibil enquiry. I am trying to avoid that.

If you are getting pre-approved offer then there will be no CIBIL enquiry else there will be at least one enquiry every time once we apply. Be it online or offline.

@shabeer can you please let us know the secret which allows you to upgrade the card , as i am trying through chat and phone banking , getting the same reply as RBI stopped this service.
They are not taking the requests now. Tried via call, web chat, email(contact form), and pno. All of them mentioned some RBI directive.

We would like to inform you as per RBI directives all Credit Card Conversion request is be stopped with effect from 6th August 2022.

I tried to get my card upgraded today via the chat option and they said that due to some internal system glitch they are not accepting card upgrade requests. also, no ETA on when the issue will be resolved.
 
Team , I got an update on this , when i spoke to customer care agent today , he said they have started to take requests for upgrade from 10th October , go run and make use of it if needed 😀😀😀😀
Are we a able to apply for axis add on credit card also like before ?
