I have checked. Mastercard is better for golf and it offers benefits as I have described above. Cheers
Currently, Visa offers 74 lounges, while MasterCard offers 62 lounges on their list. Cheers 😉

Rupay variant is useless. It gives only core reward points of 3 per 100 and no 5x of 15 per 100 and that too with a monthly capping of 500 points on upi
Sanity prevailed ..Euphoria gone.
Not sure about the exact reward rates though.. as I am not interested in every Rupay variants of every single card.

One or two rupay variant CCs are enough for our use.

I generally feel if any card comes on Rupay means, it got degraded itself..
Rupay is just another network..nothing great about it ..

100% agree. Govt must ban Visa/mastercard.

Visa/mastercard is just another network.. nothing great about it ..

When RuPay is available, why we need to use visa/mastercard.

One or two Visa/mastercard variant CCs are enough for our use. Block or convert all Visa/mastercard variant to RuPay.

That's why i told one or two Visa/mastercard variant CCs are enough for our use.

Almost 99% card transactions in India are domestic.

Choose best Visa cards for international use, Zero forex card also best.

Visa cards is currently best for frequently use international transaction users, Zero Forex Visa prepaid cards also available.

@jetesh By the way some Bahrain POS & ATMs accept RuPay Cards.

Indian travellers transact via their RuPay cards across 515 ATMs and 40K Point of Sale (PoS) terminals in Bahrain -

Bahrain's BENEFIT will be working with their Member Acquirers to ensure enablement of all NPCI’s Issuer Identification Numbers (IINs)/BINS on all card acceptance channels in BENEFIT’S Network.

Tried at the grocery shop this morning, but they didn't accept a RuPay card.

Luckily, I have IDFC Wow and BOB Eterna.

but 24% information is wrong
How it is wrong, this card gives 12 burgundy points for each 100 RS spend which can be converted to miles at 5:4 ratio, so default reward rate=4.8%, Flights on travel edge gives 5X-> 4.8*5=24% returns, I am not even considering accor points are valued at 1 point=1.8 rs, So depending on how uses those miles, returns could be even higher, 24% is assumed that even novice can extract this value.

Also, if monthly spend is higher than 1.5 lakhs, the default rate shoots up to 14.4%, But I have not counted that given not everyone would have this high usage every month.

Rupay doesn’t work anywhere and its nonsense to say that its accepted in foriegn countries as its just accepted at very few locations and that too via JCB/Discover network. Even if its accepted by native Rupay, its cumbersome to find those places.

Visa and mastercard should be the major one as you can go to any big or small shop and buy anything, rupay will always leave you hanging dry also the rupay is not future ready and it will die down pretty soon.

Edit: and i dont understand why some people are so hell bent on rupay. Its bad and people should accept it. During my PhD time, DST distributed 150 crores per IIT and IIIT to be used for research (I was CTO for one iHub) and as access to funds they provided RBI bank accounts and Visa/Mastercard based cards for spends as the goal is to sponsor events at various colleges and seminars and conferences and are paid by cards (in india).
