Flight Booking, which route is better | Amex MRCC

Hey Guys,

Just got an MRCC. Any idea as to which route is better + It's my first transaction.

I want to book flight tickets from A to B.

A 5x rewards multiplier via MMT gets me the flight tickets at a 15000 transaction value and I guess I'll be getting 1500 MRCC points? 15000 flights / 50 rupee = 300*5 = 1500 points

vs

If I directly book it via Skyscanner, I get the tickets at 13000 transaction value and if I use Amex MRCC there, I'll get 13000 flights / 50 rupee = 260*1 = 260 points + 2000 cash savings.

So booking via Skyscanner and 1x rewards only is a better deal here right?

New to the Amex Game so wanted to check if I'm not missing anything or if there's any hack.

MRCC gives 2x, not 5x. So, a 15000 transaction value will give 150000/50*2 = 600 points.
Skyscanner is giving you 13000/50 = 260 points and 2000 savings.
I will say go with Skyscanner.
