Got my MoneyBack plus CC upgraded to Millenia

Few days ago I sent a mail to CC grievance ( escalation.cc@hdfcbank.com )to upgrade my MB+ to millenia , as usual they replied " fill the following form and send to Chennai office". I replied that if its ok with them to scan and send an email. They agreed to it and they simply approved it. Today I got the physical card too. No war of words or melodrama, it just happened without any email ping-pongs. My MB+ was on rupay and this millenia is visa.

I could think the following could have triggered it, during FK BBD, I have spend ~50K on this MB+.
This is the 4th miracle of my MB+ in the past after these 3 miracles.

If it happens then it would be record breaking for MB+

I am actually happy with this low maintenance CC.
In the previous month MB+ RuPay did 3 miracles on BBD.

1. gave a whopping 11K instant discount
2. regular reward points too earned
3. as my spend was near to 47K, I spent 3K via UPI and crossed 50K milestone . got 500inr voucher for this.

I have been ridiculing this card calling it MDC, but at the end it played a Hidalgo (excellent movie watch it) and rewarded me where no prem cards could do.

With this, MB+...

What a Deepavali miracle, Lord Rama 's 14 years of exile, 14 years of MB+, 14 L CL and today Nov 3 11+3 = 14.


The mail nor the welcome letter mentions it's LTF. Anyways I mailed them for clarification.
Update 4th November : I mailed them and they replied it's only fyf.


Few questions:
How the reward points are credited ? Posted on bank and click to redeem ? any redemption fee ?
I am planning to use this for my kid's edu fee to hit milestone. What are the milestone vouchers offered ? Any tips on the usage ?

My spends don't fit into smart buy. So, never bothered about it and on top of it , the constant pain of earn & burn cycle of RPs takes toll on my mental health . SBI CB takes care all of my online spends.

Rather than a control, life was like that back then. Acceptance of CC was hard and on top of it extra 2% charges. In those days accepting a 100rs worth Sodexo without 5rs extra was the biggest deal for us. I could never reach the fee waiver criteria just by booking couple of flights.

Earlier they denied that too. Just for the sake of coming out of MB+ only I asked them as I never bothered about it as I had SBI CB.

You should have asked for RG or DCB considering your 14 years relationship with them 😂

Sodexo meal coupons are tax free and are typically 1 year validity . Typically one receives 1000 to 1500 INR per month. Big restaurants accept them and small take some cut of 5% saying that they can't encash fully. They charge extra 5rs per 100. Chennai had pathetic acceptance of these, in our group Chennai friends always try to exchange with Bangalore friends for money. It was quite a headache to sort them by validity and use them.

Good riddance, it was pain in ars** to dispose them, also apart from on campus restaurants, only reliance used to accept them. Things are much simpler now!
