Got my MoneyBack plus CC upgraded to Millenia

    Few days ago I sent a mail to CC grievance ( escalation.cc@hdfcbank.com )to upgrade my MB+ to millenia , as usual they replied " fill the following form and send to Chennai office". I replied that if its ok with them to scan and send an email. They agreed to it and they simply approved it. Today I got the physical card too. No war of words or melodrama, it just happened without any email ping-pongs. My MB+ was on rupay and this millenia is visa.

    I could think the following could have triggered it, during FK BBD, I have spend ~50K on this MB+.
    This is the 4th miracle of my MB+ in the past after these 3 miracles.

    I am actually happy with this low maintenance CC.
    In the previous month MB+ RuPay did 3 miracles on BBD.
    1. gave a whopping 11K instant discount
    2. regular reward points too earned
    3. as my spend was near to 47K, I spent 3K via UPI and crossed 50K milestone . got 500inr voucher for this.
    I have been ridiculing this card calling it MDC, but at the end it played a Hidalgo (excellent movie watch it) and rewarded me where no prem cards could do.

    What a Deepavali miracle, Lord Rama 's 14 years of exile, 14 years of MB+, 14 L CL and today Nov 3 11+3 = 14.


    The mail nor the welcome letter mentions it's LTF. Anyways I mailed them for clarification.
    Update 4th November : I mailed them and they replied it's only fyf.


    Few questions:
    How the reward points are credited ? Posted on bank and click to redeem ? any redemption fee ?
    I am planning to use this for my kid's edu fee to hit milestone. What are the milestone vouchers offered ? Any tips on the usage ?



    What a miracle to shut mouths of my bullies.

    I have 91K limit on MB+, spends have been close to ~30k this year, will they actually upgrade?

    How much was your limit on MB+? Did they do a cibil enquiry?


    What do you recommend, closing the virtual card now and then going for the upgrade or keep the card as it is?

    In general Millenia expects 1L CL. Still you can try as of late HDFC seems to be little generous. While filling the form tick upgrade+ CL increase. They might ask salary docs for CL increase.

    Mine's is an extreme case. 14L CL and ~14 years old card. Seems they hit , got some mail notification. I don't care how many points it took toll as it will be just 1 or 2 given my credit history.

    If you see virtual card is useless , close it . This doesn't change your millenia path.

    I see mine's limit is ~91k, so I may need a LE then as its <1 lac.

    Hey man would you happen to kno, if my MB+ limit is enhanced, will this automatically enhance my 2 floaters??

    If you have sbi cb, all other cards are MDCs in front of it. One advantage you get with MB+ Rupay is that you can achieve milestone even on UPI.


    Millenia only advantage is edu fee is rewarded 1% and quarterly milestone of 1% which effectively becomes 2% CB on a 1L fee payment.
