HDFC Bank Infinia is the best credit card available in India for frequent air travellers. HDFC Bank market this credit card as an invite only card, but in reality you can actually apply for this card.
Official Eligible Income Criteria For HDFC Infinia- 43L ITR (depends on location)
DCB - 24L ITR
If you don't have ITR of 43L/24L you can still get HDFC Infinia/DCB, you have to fulfil some other criteria.

Hidden Criteria For "New HDFC Bank Infinia Credit Card" - You can apply for new HDFC Bank Infinia credit card using "Card To Card" method, you need a minimum 1 year old other bank credit card with minimum 10 lakhs credit limit for this.
"New HDFC Bank Diners Club Black Credit Card" - You can apply for new HDFC Bank DCB credit card using "Card To Card" method, you need a minimum 1 year old other bank credit card with minimum 5 lakhs credit limit for this.

If your already have a HDFC Bank credit card, then you have to upgrade your existing card to Infinia/DCB,
For Upgrade To Infinia-
1. You need minimum 8 lakhs credit limit on your existing HDFC Bank Credit card
2. Send an email to- grievance.redressalcc@hdfcbank.com & request for card upgrade, fill up and attach credit card upgrade form with the email.

For Upgrade To DCB-
1. You need minimum 5 lakhs credit limit on your existing HDFC Bank Credit card
2. Send an email to- grievance.redressalcc@hdfcbank.com & request for card upgrade, attach card upgrade form with the email.

Update- HDFC Bank asking for 10 lakhs limit on your existing credit card for infinia upgrade.



So, don't be surprised if hdfc bank ask you for 10L limit. 😃

I already have received one flight voucher, but i don't have 5l limit, having only 3l, will they consider upgrading it?

Or can you tell me alternative ways to get upgrade

First try directly mailing for upgrade. If doesn't work then Income documents for manual LE can be tried.
Else check if your eligible through alumni program. They might make exception on that basis.
If this doesn't work, only option is to increase limit through FD lien.

Thanks i will check alumni, and maybe auto LE may come at that time as cooldown period ends

Two ways - Show that you have high income (60 lakh ITR for Infinia) or you can spend lot of money (9 lakh in 6 months)

Dont send itr info.
Just tell them you spoke to someone in PNOs team and they said the upgrade criteria is 9L spends in last 6 months and 8L+ limit. If they deny ask them on what basis they are denying since you satisfy this.

I have mailed to priority redressal with this statement.

This time, got that response that they would review and get back on 2nd December. Have my fingers crossed 🤞. Hopefully this works.

If your salary & ITR is that much then there is no issue, if not then ready to get notice from income tax.

No issue with card limit as long as you are paying your credit card bills monthly. 🙂

Nope. I spent 5L in 4 months with 3L limit and requested upgrade from RG to DCB. They rejected at every level.

2. You can lien FDs to increase credit limit (80% of FD amount can be used to increase the limit - 2.5L FD in your case)
3. Purchase ULIP (not recommended)

I think FD will be better, maybe lien can be removed after 1 year or later on as limit enhancement Triggers and goes above 7 lacs

I just received DCB as my only card(not even activated yet) with hdfc with 9.5L Limit and I have upcoming spends to 9-10L in next 2 months. Would it be possible for infinia upgrade?

Yes should be possible. For first card there shouldn't be any cooldown.

Off topic question - Does anyone know Air India website or mobile app accepts Diners credit card? It didn't worked last time, thought it was network issue. Now also it's not working. Page keeps loading and doesn't move to OTP. But card is recognized as Diners.
