DCB How to get HDFC Diners Club Credit Card Life Time Free

Hello Everyone,

HDFC Bank runs a special Diners Institute Program for the people who have either completed their education from the list of institutes mentioned below link or are part of the Club mentioned in the below link:

List of Eligible Institute & Club Link: Link

Under this program, you are eligible for a Diners Club Credit Card on Life Time Free basis. The card variant depends upon your Salary and Card Limit. (As updated by the Bank person the eligibility has been relaxed a little on 21-Dec-2022)

1. For the Diners Club Black variant you need to have a Monthly salary of more than 1.45L

2. If you do not meet the above criteria and still your Institute is part of the above list you will be given the Diners Club Privilege variant

3. If you are a final year student studying in any of the above-mentioned colleges, the Card against your institute name will be provided to you as Life Time Free

The process to Apply:

Long Process:

1. mail to priorityredressal.creditcards@hdfcbank.com along with the name of the Institute or Club

2. They will revert back and ask you to apply on the following link: https://v.hdfcbank.com/htdocs/common/dinersblackinstitute/index.html after which in a couple of days someone from HDFC Bank will reach out to you

3. You need to submit your Degree Certificat / Club Membership Proof, Last three-month Salary Slip, and Bank account statement in which your Salary was credited

Short Proces:

Did you get the welcome offers as mentioned on HDFC website (Timesptime membership, amazon prime, etc etc) even when this card is LTF? Or what what exactly is the difference when we apply this card via institute program and when we apply fresh from the HDFC website like a normal person.

I have applied online for the DCB LTF card through alumni program, but expecting rejection soon as my institution has been removed from the list. After applying online, I visited my home branch & they confirmed my eligibility for FYF DCB Card based on income & I filled the upgrade form along with income documents. As per the bank, I should get a response from their backend team by Wednesday. Just a bit worried if applying through 2 different channels at the same time will create some kind of conflict or trigger too many CIBIL enquiries 🙁

These membership are activated on conditional basis.

If you pay the fees by default you get all the benifits of these memberships.

however in our case there is no fee so in first 90 days we have to spend 1.5L to obtain these benifits.

Yeah, unless you are planning a big purchase, it’s very difficult to achieve this.

I got my DCB LTF inspired by your post. My experience while applying the card from Kolkata below:

1. Filled up https://v.hdfcbank.com/htdocs/common/dinersblackinstitute/index.html and waited for a week, but no follow up from HDFC
2. Called Yadurya who requested to visit the local HDFC branch in Kolkata
3. Visited one of the smaller branches where they denied any knowledge of the offer, even after showing the DC Alumni portal link
4. Visit a larger branch where they confirmed the offer after speaking with the CC Kolkata Head
5. Handed over the documents, and opened a bank account (having a bank account with HDFC is voluntary and was explained by the bank as well)
6. No follow up or confirmation calls received, I got the credit card in my mail (with college initials engraved on the card) within 10 days

Thanks for this! I am also from Kolkata and will apply for the same. Most likely I will get Privilege card. Can you tell me which branch you visited and any contact person? Also what benefit is there if we open a HDFC account (since you mentioned its voluntary)?
Also some people say that their college name is not engraved! How or on what condition did you get it engraved on the card?

I agree, If it’s DCB, then we can replace Regalia. And yes, easy to get Regalia converted to LTF

Received an email confirming that my institute is not on the list & hence they can’t upgrade my card to DCB LTF. It was expected. But I was hoping that they would offer me an option to go for FYF DCB since I had shared income docs and qualify for DCB! Anyway, waiting for my upgrade form to reach Chennai office and hear about their decision 🙁 @desaik231

Sorry to say but it won't be possible to convert to LTF. Since you have Diners Club card you wont have any benifit from this program.
